🎮 The official account of Fuse Games. We're a passionate game studio working on our first title, STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™.

Fuse’s Game Design Director on making podracers feel dangerously fast: “Forgiving in the pack, unforgiving when it counts. One system malfunction and clipping a rock at 1000km/h becomes something spectacular - in the worst possible way.”

Fuse’s Lead Concept Artist, James Lewis-Vines on the design process for repulsorcraft: “Silhouette says it all - each vehicle’s design communicates its strengths and weaknesses, grounded in real-world inspiration from motorcycles, cars, planes and beyond.”

Fuse’s Lead World Artist on the challenge of building spaces that feel alive: “Every prop has a backstory. Our artists roleplay the characters themselves – imagining their routines, how they’d shape the space, and ensuring the environment, NPCs and player all feel like one cohesive world.”

We had creators and press come to our studio to get hands-on with STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™.  Here's a look at first impressions. 👀

Fuse’s Lead Concept Artist on the return of iconic podracers: “Bringing these iconic podracers back into the spotlight has been thrilling - staying faithful to the original ‘STAR WARS: The Phantom Menace’ designs was paramount, using archival imagery and modern technology to enhance every detail.”

Our Game Design Director on the skim speeder’s signature move: “It can flip onto its side, narrowing its profile at a slight cost to speed - worth it to slip between rivals, skim lava edges, or carve tighter lines through switchbacks.”

Dora, our Lighting Artist, recently led a workshop on entering the games industry, sharing practical advice on portfolios and transitioning from education to a career. Huge thanks to Dora for supporting the next generation of developers!

Pride Month reminds us that great games come from many diverse perspectives. Happy Pride to the LGBTQ+ talent across our studio and industry whose creativity, expertise and passion help push games forward every day. 🏳️‍🌈

Fuse’s Game Design Director explains how tracks offer unique challenges:  “Lantaana’s tight rainforest tracks, hairpins and extreme corners can sneak up on you. Speeder bikes excel because you can instantly slam the brakes on, then accelerate out of the corner, returning your speed- and then some.”

Fuse’s Studio Art Director on Lantaana:  “Lantaana is where two ages of civilisation collide. The remnants of crumbling ancient temples co-exist with the geothermal infrastructure left behind by the Empire. Beyond shaping the game’s mechanics, it’s a strong juxtaposition of visual themes.”

Fuse's Studio Art Director, Jonathan Rowe, explains what inspired Derven Acos: “It’s arena design is inspired by Formula 1 race circuits around the world. The design draws from tracks that weave through stadium infrastructure, like those in Mexico, Malaysia and Abu Dhabi.”

Fuse’s Senior Hard Surface Artist on Sebulba’s iconic repulsorcraft: "Graceful, sleek, quiet... the craft that "almost" won the Boonta Eve Classic is none of these. The Plug-F Mammoth is known for its orange flash of power and noise, which is why we took such care to match its colour and livery.”

Our Principle Vehicle Artist on the design process: “Designed within the Kor Sarun theme, the Rak S draws from sleek Sith-inspired forms, with mechanics tucked beneath the body. Real-world references like the F-117 Nighthawk ground it - while STAR WARS cues keep it familiar, yet new.”

Bild

Fuse's Senior Concept Artist on designing the Kor Sarun: Darc X landspeeder: “We wanted this landspeeder to feel sleek and aggressive, balancing curves and sharp edges. We were inspired by the Knights of Ren transport ship, using its dark, signature rear silhouette across the set.”

Bild

Fuse's Senior Concept Artist on the design process: “A key goal for this speeder bike was to feel powerful without exposing too much of its internal structure. We focused detail on the rear to communicate aggression, while keeping the top surfaces clean ensuring space for future livery design.”

A huge congratulations to our devs who completed the Dorney Lake Triathlon! 🎉 Not only did they cross the finish line, but they absolutely smashed their fundraising target - raising £990 for Blood Cancer UK, exceeding the original £300 goal.  Thank you so much to everyone who donated!
