Only 10 months after the last one, chapter 3 of Take It from the Top is here! It's nerdy as hell (you have no idea) and contains one of my favourite things @14th-lulullaby.bsky.social has ever drawn 👾 It's silly and soft and super musical! Enjoy the jazz! Read: archiveofourown.org/works/671083...

‘Jazz isn’t just about melody and harmony.’ He slips off the end of the bench and shrugs off his coat at last. ‘It requires active listening with your whole body,’ he says, dragging his fingers down his newly uncovered torso. Satoru follows the movement, swallowing at the expanse of pale skin visible under black mesh, leather straps, silver studs. Then Getō Suguru clicks those very same fingers in his face.

Blinking, Satoru urgently lifts his gaze, only to see him sweep his dark hair off his pretty face. Smirking as he pulls his ponytail tight, Getō Suguru downs the rest of Satoru’s drink and slams the glass onto the table.

‘And it requires putting your ego aside.’

Take It from the Top | greaterglow on ao3 🎻 Satoru learns to feel the music and learns to feel a few other things, too. · #jjk #satosugu · multi-chapter, rated M/E · the inherent intimacy of music · a classical music AU · for lovely @s4turn-ly.bsky.social read: archiveofourown.org/works/67108315

He remembers the name Yaga gave him; it’s too similar to his own to forget. Satoru remembers the name, and now, he doesn’t think he’ll forget the face.

Looking at the boygirl or maybe girlboy stationed at the front of the string orchestra, he wonders if his piano teacher is actually a piece of shit. Satoru definitely isn’t ignorant, and he's quite certain ‘Suguru’ is a masculine name. The old man probably just doesn’t quite know what to make of Tokyo College of Music’s principal cellist.

Which is fair enough, actually. Satoru isn’t sure what to make of him either.

—

Or, when Satoru's piano teacher assigns him his most difficult challenge yet, he finds unlikely help from a cellist who challenges all the conventions of the world he thought he knew. Through Suguru, he’ll learn to feel the music in ways he never imagined possible — and maybe he’ll learn to feel a few other things, too.

i just watched a post disappear from my timeline in realtime because someone made a REPLY containing a muted word. bsky goes way too hard with content filters 💀 between this and the vanishing of anything in proximity to people who've blocked me, i constantly wonder how much i'm not seeing on here...

i had a really bad day. i'm sorry, i feel like all i do is bring negativity here lately 😭 but only 14 days left of the big bang and then i will have more of my fandom time back for myself for the first time in over a year. i really really need it. SO ONCE MORE: we try again tomorrow with jazz AU 🤡
