To our dismay, the artist and author Marjane Satrapi has passed away. As she wrote, ordinary Americans and Iranians have more in common with each other than we do with either of our governments, which have far too much in common with each other. We honor her memory and oppose the war.

Since Google revealed its plans for an AI search overhaul, visits to our "No AI" search page have tripled…and they’re still rising! Want to make it your default on Chrome or Firefox? Grab our No-AI extensions and banish AI-assisted answers, chat, and AI images. (1/3)
As you use AI to simplify easy yet mundane tasks, like writing emails, you get increasingly dependent on it. You get lazy, less skilled, use your brain less, and (you may not want to hear this) get stupider as a result. Don’t let them take away your ability to think. Stop using it. Now.
The whole "AI" industry is just based on the hope that they can deskill people fast enough that they'll have to rent back cognitive support systems. Forever. It's like Uber. Just that they don't try to break existing transportation infrastructures but your brain.

New slogan to throw at Brands just dropped.
"It's a great sign to see that people are challenging the notion that we all have to do AI now," Geuter said. "Because we don't. It's a choice. A choice that mostly benefits monopolists."
Basically traps AI crawlers and sends them down an "infinite maze" of static files with no exit links, where they get stuck and thrash around for months. Once trapped, the crawlers can be fed gibberish data, aka Markov babble, which is designed to poison AI models arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...
"Spring in the air"? Wrong. Pollen. Pollen is in the air and allergies are killing me
No one thinks about your every move around them the way you think they do. Everyone's in their own head, with their own concerns. Once you realize that life becomes easier.
If you’re over 30, quote this with some life advice 🤌🏼
[2] Two YCHs I had commissioned by GG of the first encounter (but with Kenny, of course). The second was 3 frame GIF split into separate images (Bluesky doesn't support uploading GIFs as posts, and I can't be bothered to make an MP4 (Alt text for self aware joke at my expense)

It's been a year since Albini's passing. It's still incredibly hard to verbalize the impact his music, engineering and ethos has affected me as a creative. I still miss him. It hurts, but that's life I guess... #thankyoustevealbini
