This is the happier version where (baby) Illuga is being held by Nikita surrounded by other lightkeepers (Patolichev, Gabieta, Marushkin). Note: I didn't choose these lightkeepers specifically for any reason other than they have specific small dialogues with Illuga if you walk around to chat with them. There are other npcs I'd love to put in too but got a bit sad (BJORN,,,) and also just lack of space LOL

She took a steadying breath, and forced herself to relax rather than flinching away, letting her hand settle deliberately against his on the ground. At first there was no reaction, no indication that he was even aware of the gesture. And then, slowly, almost hesitantly, his touch withdrew… ...only to shift closer behind her until their arms crossed in the reduced space between them, shoulders pressed together. It was not quite an embrace, in fact it fell well short of that. But it was warm — the press of the inside of his shoulder against the back of hers, the brush of his hair against her ear if she leaned her head just so, the bracing presence of him beside her. There was an undeniable sense of comfort-seeking from it that threatened to rend her open, were she not fully aware of the same laid bare in the mirror of her own heart.

These Golden Regrets The ongoing story of Aventurine being given everything he ever wished he could have, and of course he only goes kicking and screaming because he doesn't believe it could ever be real. His sister is supposed to be dead, after all... #ratiorine

Fic summary for These Golden Regrets by ThreeOfSpades: "Of all the ridiculous, risky things I expect of you, gambler," he said, slowly and deliberately, "bringing a trained assassin to your own home — one that attempted to kill you mere hours ago, no less — was decidedly not on the list of things I ever anticipated." The tone was scathing, harsh and reproachful, but it did little to faze the smaller man, whose smile never faltered. "One of these days I'm going to teach you that to gamble well means being able to anticipate any outcome, no matter how ridiculous or impossible it might seem." While on their first field assignment since Penacony, Aventurine and Ratio are surprised to encounter a vengeful Avgin mercenary. As soon as she speaks, however, a name and face from the past spring instantly to Aventurine's mind — that of his supposedly dead sister, Kadriya. In what proves to be the biggest gamble of his life, he strikes a deal with her to convince her to come back to Pier Point with him, even though he can't be sure of her actual identity. What follows is a tense and chaotic ride that none of them expected, filled with mystery, secrets, distrust… and regret.
