gosh you know it’s getting serious when you gotta port your stuff to a native app surprised by how less painful trying out rust has been this time around, libraries actually exist now :o
fyris - wavetangle out now!!!

im like if a dog dropped off mp3s at your feet instead of sticks, i make music and write code :) 25 / girl / australia / fyris.me
i’m gonna publish more of my ancient little web apps that have been on my drive for years and no one can stop me
Wavetangle update! I totally redesigned the parameter panel, you can type things like note names, musical durations, and maths expressions into the boxes, modulation got an overhaul, and there's new gradient cables to show type conversion :D
By the way, wavetangle has also been a full on synth this whole time... It contextually blends buffer-based offline processing and real-time synthesis based on how you patch The next update will feature knob blocks for better hands on control over the real-rime side of things :D
Say hello to Wavetangle! An experimental sound design language designed to support weirdness like recursion, fractals, and infinities wavetangle.fyris.me

woah thank you for 100 followers, i’m glad people seem to like my silly little noises app!
Fun fact: Wavetangle has support for audio rate modulation, maths functions, arrays, and randomness :)
I love showing people wavetangle because like 10 mins in you're building the cantor set from an amen break

my brain can not comprehend 2 timelines at once
yay, i have written a song per day for the past 3 days
first time doing live stuff went well, people seemed to really like it :)
keeping it simple with 24tet and synths made of cowbells 🙂↕️
oops i agreed to play live on my machinedrum this saturday, now all i gotta do is write another half of the set and memorise like 50 pattern changes and 200 track assignments for messing with params ahHH
i love the recurring thing of friends wanting you to teach them about synths, you get to FM and “yeah like how radio works” and then you see like 1500 things suddenly align in their brain
so like, when they called this thing a drum machine they were just straight up lying
conspiracy theory: ableton built the extensions sdk purely because LLMs couldn’t do max patches like don’t get me wrong i massively prefer a standard non-proprietary ecosystem language, but hmmmmmmm
ableton encouraging vibecoding has me glad i have a desk of 20yo hardware that will never connect to the internet or get updates
