New volume of essays on Fichte's moral and political philosophy coming out at the end of the year. Some really great essays in here - excited for it to finally appear.
Easing back into working and it feels good. Vacation with young kids can be more work than work. Lovely in all kinds of ways, but it's been a couple of weeks since doing some actual philosophical work.
I don't know if you can hear my 4yo screaming but she doesn't want the nuggets and spaghettios I made for her dinner. She wants Thai food (honestly don't blame her) and been crying her eyes out about it. She's like why do you get to decide what I eat? I see her point to be fair.
4 yo is telling the cat what atoms are. We're doing science over here.
I was going to send my kids to college but Numero Group keeps reissuing all my favorite records from the 90s.
Started jazz guitar lessons a couple of months ago & the hardest part is finding the time to practice. Also, remembering all those wild chords, swinging things, the theory, fingering the right frets in time, remembering scales, not hitting the wrong string. All good besides that.
Sometimes you have to clean up to find the thing you're looking for, but I'm pretty sure once you find it you can stop cleaning. Luckily, in my case, I found the papers I needed after 45 minutes, so I get to stop cleaning now!
I swear, I'm going to order my books for the fall any day now. Teaching my Liberalism course and I'm so indecisive. Just want to talk about Rousseau and the French Revolution.
Back home from this workshop about publishing a trade book. Super cool people working on exciting projects. Learned so much, it's wild. Trade is a beast! I think the world needs a Fichte bio, trade can work for this, that was confirmed. Just how to do it - that's the question.

Did you hear that the Texas A&M library burned down? It's ok, a brave administrator was able to recover all three books. Thankfully, the two coloring books were in pristine condition; the other was Plato's "Symposium" - so he just threw it back into the flames.

Just had some gelato in Germany. I mean, it was good, but they got nothing on the Italians. Yet, when it comes to philosophy, the Germans got them beat.
