This isn't shortread data, but alignments of genome assemblies with N50 > 100Mb. The plot is the # of bp per 100Kb window that are dropped because of missing data -- because those bp physically are not there in one of the other 25 genomes. This is what normal plant genomes look like, folks.

Hi all! I’m looking for a postdoc or research collaboration in evolutionary genomics. I have been doing a lot of work on adaptation (local and global) for the past few years. I am particularly interested in studying these processes through repeated systems and comparative genomics.

Are you interested in the genomic basis of repeated adaptation? The RepAdapt group now has >70 members working to re-run their whole genome shotgun datasets through a common SNP calling pipeline, sharing VCFs, and working together to analyse data. Please contact me if you'd like to contribute!
