This is such a sh*tshow. We came back last night & had to sleep near the back door to keep cool; today the contractors arrived at 5:30 to tell us that they can’t remove anything like we were told, they *may* be able to remove one or two tomorrow, and Monday is the day they expect to reevaluate fully

Some updates on life recently as I have been absent here: 1) The apartment above us flooded Saturday (maybe due to child letting bathtub run 2+hrs, maybe due to pipes bursting, who knows) 2) We’ve had 5 industrial grade humidifiers in the apartment since then running 24/7. Not allowed to turn off

THIS IS STILL TRUE at the halfway point! I’ve been seeing qualms this year about lack of receiving — I myself haven’t gotten an attack — but that’s NOT what this is about at the end of the day. That thrill when you gift someone, see their reaction, make their day? THAT’S what we’re celebrating.

Update: they were wasps. Definitely wasps. Yellow Jackets to be precise, just on the younger side, so they borderline looked like little carpenter bees. Whole paper nest created in the skirt. I feel bad. But these guys gotta go, they’re hella aggressive

So update — they did it wrong. The entire wall is warped and cracking and the guy they sent to finish the caulking looked at us and was like “I can’t do anything, this is bad”. So….who’s up for round 2 I guess?

Of course the heat wave hits when we have to keep all the windows open in the house to keep ourselves ventilated from paint (epoxy?) fumes. Of course. I’m so disgustingly hot, I can’t focus, and everything smells. This is like a trifecta of sensory overload.

Good news! They finally patched the drywall hole in the shower after fixing the pipes (after like 3 weeks of hole) Bad News — Bab and I are probably going to sleep out on the couch tonight ( maybe tomorrow?) because the paint they used to cover the entire shower is like car-grade paint.
