Some emergency editioning of ‘Remember Me' as I somehow managed to run out of copies completely. Only to find, halfway through ... and you'll be ahead of me here... that I already have a HUGE pile of trimmed and signed copies. Oh, how l laughed... 😬 #linocut #londonart
This reel of London Underground linocuts may not look all that much but, by God, did it take me a ridiculous amount of time! 😳😱🤯😮😂
London’s Docklands arising from the press in the studio today - first lino block printed, three more to go 💪 #Londonart #linocut
I’ve been trying to think of something interesting to say about all these linocuts of London - but my cognitive abilities appear to have melted away in the heat 🥵 #londonart #linocuts
After months of blood, sweat and bleeding fingers, my Primrose Hill linocut is finally finished. Hope you like it! #printmaking #primrosehill
Back to black this week and I’m enjoying the speediness of printing only one colour but omg the mess - black ink gets EVERYWHERE! 😱 #linocut #londonart
Apparently June is skyscraper month - exactly why tall buildings need their own special month is anyone’s guess - nevertheless, here I am with some skyscrapers… #Londonskyline #linocut
I am genuinely thrilled to share with you that on World Flip Flop Day I actually have a linocut with a pair of flip-flops in it…. That’s all for today 🩴
You may be surprised to hear, but today is World Goth Day 🎉 I’m not sure how a goth might celebrate their special day - difficult to imagine - but for all goths out there, this one’s for you 🖤 #worldgothday
Lots of wonderful prints to see at ORIGINAL PRINTS 2026 - the Royal Society of Printmakers Annual Exhibition for members is at Bankside Gallery, London (right next to Tate Modern on the Southbank) Open daily with free entry 😊 Dates: 24th April - 31st May Image: The Last of the Light (linocut)
I’ll be at Eames Fine Art (5 mins from London Bridge) on May 2nd where I’ll be discussing my latest print “April Come She Will” and the evolution of my work Talk at 11am (limited spaces – RSVP directly to the gallery) Drop in from 12:30pm if you can’t make the talk - see you there!
A trip down memory lane with this one - so long ago I barely remember it. I do know it’s a linocut of a tube station, although I can’t quite place which one, and I’m drawing a bit of a blank on the title too. Must be getting old… #linocut #londonart
Speaking as one who never misses an opportunity to shoehorn a topic into a post, and as it’s Sky Awareness Week, I’m sharing (and you may be ahead of me here) a linocut with a sky - for those of us who need to practice their awareness 🤔 ‘Storm Clouds over Whitehall’ linocut #whitehall #stjamespark
These four very long, thin linocuts are horribly difficult to print and a really awkward size to frame. Still, it seemed like an excellent idea at the time.... #londonart #linocuts
For those tyre enthusiasts out there - and I’m sure there are many of you - today, in 1923, Firestone started producing balloon-tyres for cars. Which leads neatly on to my linocut of some cars, sadly lacking, as I am, in any artwork that includes bunnies, lambs or eggs. Happy Easter everyone! 🐣
A slightly odd view from the train on the approach to Blackfriars station - you’re looking straight on at the London Eye and yet somehow the sunset is still off to the west. It’s thanks to that great loop in the Thames - there are some great views that are technically correct but a bit unexpected!
In honour of St Patrick’s Day and in the absence of anything more suitable, here is a mostly green linocut of a tube train carriage….. ☘️☘️☘️ #printmaker #linocut
This week’s progress and just one more colour to go. And which colour is this, I hear you ask - no idea but I’ll have to get a wriggle on or I’ll still be here at Christmas 😂 #Mudchute #allotments #linocut
For #valentinesday, here's my linocut 'Remember Me' - for all long lost lovers everywhere... ❤️ #blockprint #printmaking
I called this linocut, ‘The Golden Hour’ because I love that time just before sunset, when the light sometimes softens and warms and London briefly forgets it’s supposed to be grey, cold and drizzly. I’m sure I’m not the only one to pause for a moment on Blackfriars Bridge to admire that view ❤️
I started this year thinking I was going to get super organised - a week later and I really can’t be arsed So instead of a picture of my neatly filled-in wall planner, here’s a linocut of Bethnal Green gas holders instead… #ContemporaryPrintmaking #BlockPrinting
Happy New Year’s Eve to everyone! And thank you all for the support and kind comments that have warmed my rather chilly studio in this little corner of south east London over the past year - wishing you all good things for 2026! #topnine #happynewyear
Eggs, fresh bread, a cool glass of wine, and a flower to rest your eyes on ~ I like the simplicity of 17th century German still-life specialist Georg Flegel’s ‘Snack with Fried Eggs’ (1630), State Gallery Aschaffenburg
For the next two days, I plan to be flat out on the sofa, in front of the TV, with a glass of champagne continually topped up by a team of elves - well, a girl can dream… Here's hoping all your Christmas wishes come true - have a good one and see you on the other side! #HappyChristmas
Beautiful words from Margaret Atwood: “This is the solstice, the still point of the sun, its cusp and midnight, the year's threshold and unlocking, where the past lets go of and becomes the future, the place of caught breath, the door of a vanished house left ajar...” #wintersolstice #linocut
Just a little reminder that tomorrow, Friday 19th, is the last day I can post prints in time for Christmas (UK only). 🎄
So, after a lot of effing and blinding, endless cups of tea and a little bit of crying in the corner, here is my latest linocut, Hinterlight. Hope you like it! #Linocut #Printmaking #ContemporaryArt #blockprint
