I know there are about ten billion fires that need to be put out in terms of world events on a daily basis nowadays, but can actually enforcing our anti-trust laws be somewhere on that to-do list at some point? I’m just so fucking tired, man.
ToonHive@toonhive.bsky.social · 17h agoCartoon Network and Nickelodeon are officially sister networks for the first time in HISTORY. The two networks now share a parent company following today’s completed merger to form Skydance.
you may have noticed that animation has never been more in-demand & in the zeitgeist and yet, seemingly, never have media conglomerates been less willing to produce it. you may also notice these guys get multimillion dollar severance packages after they gut a studio. there is probably no connection
Henry Gilbert (Beloved Podcast Personality)@talkinghenry.bsky.social · 11h agoSkydance now owns Nick, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Comedy Central, and MTV, effectively ending US TV animation as we know it. Countless jobs will be lost, and fewer new shows will be created. An apocalyptic scenario for cartoons, yet it's maybe the 5th-worst thing about the Paramount-WB merger!
I know this isn’t useful but it’s weird how “the president should be coherent” was a Very Important Thing just a few years ago and then suddenly wasn’t.

Genuinely, this is what bothers me the most, it's fundamentally changed my relationship with art where I'm greeting it initially with skepticism and scrutiny, I never want to feel that way about art.

I going to just assume that many people have just not been getting the info on their timeline about it, but if you have a no Gen AI stance, stop playing Aniimo it's riddled with it and it does NOT disclose that on Steam Gen AI Gatcha slop
MLK said in TWO PLACES that the ultimate logic of racism and segregation was the genocide of the segregated. I feel like folks intentionally forgot this extremely basic fact for the sake of political expediency.
