Son studying for exams for private & public HS in NYC. Test prep apps are meh, so in 1 night, built app that far exceeds them using LLMs for custom, adaptive questions, personalized coaching on right/wrong, etc. Really pleased with myself until blew thru $100 in tokens in 3 wks.

Making rounds among brands, agencies, & platforms talking/listening abt future of AI in ad creative generation, where Vidmob already playing leadership role (more soon!). Today's topic: compliance & licensing issues around AI-generated humans in ads. Surprisingly contentious.

Train geek complaint: shiny new R211s now being deployed in NYC subway have far fewer seats than any train ever used in system. Seem to do this to allow more rush hour capacity but also means a lot more standing during the 21 other hours per day when trains not full.

When I work late in office, often bike to UWS home if weather is nice, like tonight. As you roll up 6th Ave across 58th St, northern breeze often rolls out of Central Park, dropping temp by 5-10 degrees. Particularly nice on hot nights but still pleasant on cooler ones like tonight.

Wes Anderson movies walk a fine line with me: amusing up to a certain point of extreme idiosyncrasy & convolution and then just annoying. Couldn’t get through Asteroid City (despite many long flights & nothing else to do). Not sure where The Phoenician Scheme will land.

As dual Duke & NC State grad, know that Houston can giveth & taketh away. I was particularly wary going into yesterday with all of the "experts" saying it would be Duke romp. Kiss of death.
