Darwin's Grab Bag

Maybe someday I'll sit down and try to figure out why when I receive a random compliment in person, my automatic, knee-jerk reaction is to deflect and say "It's bad, actually."

"Your order is about to ship!" "Wow, early than expected! Great!" "Yeah, we'll let you know as soon as the shipping container is on the boat in China." "That's....not....."

Cooking shows are like, "Boil some pasta, toss it in olive oil, sprinkle some parsley on top... And there you have it. A delicious dish I sell for $80 at my Michelin Star restaurant."

Was hoping Norway would beat England,l... And I have found out that I absolutely do not like the emotional roller coaster of watching a game where I have a desired outcome.

It would be very convenient if I could stop by the boozatorium across the street from my route while I'm out here. And while I don't think there's anything specifically illegal about it, the optics would be terrible.

🎵 I've been eyeing this tiger at this party all night He's been out on the floor since my arrival And he knows how to dip and sway his body just right And have you seen the size of the thighs on this tiger 🎵

I have a clear recollection of a scene from the "Land of Confusion" video where at the line "And these are the hands we're given," a bunch of puppet hands come out from the sides of the frame. This scene doesn't actually exist.

When obscure soccer rules are dug up and seemingly applied to only one team, it really doesn't help with the whole "FIFA is a massively corrupt organization" optics. ESPECIALLY when there are prediction market ads all over the stadiums.
