When I was growing up we went to a photo studio once a year, waited 2 weeks to get the prints, mailed them to my grandparents who got them 2 weeks later (🤞). That was all they saw of their grandkids. My grandma sees more of my kids in a week than she saw of me in the first 10 years of my life

Reminds me of the time about two decades ago when I was taking a train from Berlin to Krakow and I put this song on (the original, by Yom Tov Ehrlich). Hearing the song while watching the station names pass by the window hit different.

A problem we will have to deal with is that there ARE no good options for getting out of this mess and the next admin will be stuck with having to choose the least bad option, which will still be a bad option, which will be used as a tool to criticize the next admin no matter what they end up doing

The main reason the Constitution failed to constrain Trump is because a lot of the Constitution is built on the premise that the people wouldn't elect a Trump as president.

This is mathematically equivalent to asking "would you pay 50k for a lottery ticket where you had a 50/50 chance of winning 1 million?" Unless you're the kind of person for whom spending 50k is trivial, the choice becomes a lot clearer when framed that way.
