When I was growing up we went to a photo studio once a year, waited 2 weeks to get the prints, mailed them to my grandparents who got them 2 weeks later (🤞). That was all they saw of their grandkids. My grandma sees more of my kids in a week than she saw of me in the first 10 years of my life

Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

My company is still small enough that a company-wide announcement goes out for every new employee, and for the first time since I started paying attention (soon after I joined over a year ago) a new engineer is joining who isn't a man...

My latest blog post about how AI is making it harder to mentor/learn is overrun by AI comments. I know they're AI because they'll go on and on about the Chavrusa analogy I made and like, it's by a dude from India or Bangladesh 😅

This is mathematically equivalent to asking "would you pay 50k for a lottery ticket where you had a 50/50 chance of winning 1 million?" Unless you're the kind of person for whom spending 50k is trivial, the choice becomes a lot clearer when framed that way.
