Based on Sonic 1’s release date (1991), pretty sure it was this. First games I can remember being given as a gift was the Christmas I got Sonic 3 and Ristar.

Typical Wisconsin vibes for me and a couple friends to be catcalled by rednecks driving a lifted giant truck in a mall parking lot. I swear stuff like that has only happened to me since moving here and it’s wild. This state has positives but then there’s…that.
