French camera Pixii is facing liquidation

Leica Rumors reports French high-end camera company Pixii has faced significant financial challenges for nearly a year. The company entered court-supervised restructuring last December, an attempt to get the company’s financial situation in order. On May 20, 2026, the Commercial Court of Besançon, which initiated the restructuring, extended Pixii’s period under observation until Dec. 10, 2026. However, on July 22, the court converted the restructuring process into a liquidation one. The court officially entered the liquidation judgment in France’s business notices in early August, and the company was authorized to continue business operations until July 31, 2026.

NRF: Affordability shapes winter holiday shopping

Profoto reports third-quarter sales growth, improved profitability amid challenging market

Profoto Holding AB reported improved third-quarter 2026 results, with sales increasing 7.9% to SEK 128 million, compared with SEK 119 million a year earlier. Organic growth was 7.7%, although the company cautioned the improvement came against weak 2025 results. Operating profit (EBIT) reached SEK 19 million, compared with a loss of SEK 57 million last year. EBITDA increased to SEK 40 million from SEK 4 million. Results benefited from cost reductions and a SEK 15 million refund of U.S. tariffs. Regional performance varied significantly. Claranova reports declining photography business as annual revenue falls 20.6%

French software company Claranova reported declining revenue in its photography business for fiscal 2025–2026, contributing to a broader downturn in company sales. The company reported annual revenue of €93.7 million, down 20.6% on a reported basis and 11.8% organically. Claranova identified its Photography segment and advertising-related Utilities business as the primary sources of the organic revenue decline. CIPA: Compact cameras are carrying the market’s unit growth

CIPA’s August data show worldwide camera shipments essentially flat year over year at approximately 681,700 units, but this doesn't tell the whole story. Fixed lens cameras are now driving the market: Fixed-lens cameras reached roughly 242,800 units, up about 32% from August 2025. Meanwhile, interchangeable-lens cameras fell to approximately 436,800 units, down about 13%. Lens shipments declined to about 717,100 units, their lowest monthly level since February 2025. The compact category has now grown for two consecutive months, while interchangeable-lens shipments have declined for four.

Apogee Enterprises reports 9.2% sales growth in fiscal second quarter, raises full-year outlook

Apogee Enterprises Inc. reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 net sales of $391.1 million, an increase of 9.2% from $358.2 million a year earlier, driven by acquisitions, pricing improvements and favorable product mix.
