My whole family had a freakout today when we got emergency notifications that my father had taken a hard fall and his phone had us listed as emergency contacts. So I called my mother right away, and the two of them were just fine (thank god) and riding in the car on the way to dinner and a concert.
This is so good! Also I find it quite fascinating looking back that any serious film critics believed the Coen Bros. were superficial or ignorant of the complex themes in their own work

Courtney Milan@courtneymilan.com · 6d agoGreat article, and also fuck this shit. Imagine thinking that "sure, one option to upending your life to take a test we could not administer is that you should just take the bar exam in February" is a remotely reasonable remedy.
And I thought it was bad when I had to take the NYS Bar Exam in a room at the Javits Center that had birds flying around in it all day Abolish this stupid, expensive, biased waste of time ritual
