OK, so a somewhat spooky entry for #FolkWitchFriday this week. Seeing as it's almost #Halloween. This one that saw print in Pagan Dawn Magazine back in 2018, and fed directly into the idea of me writing a whole book on Necromancy from a modern, urban perspective. Which I also did, later in 2024.

Pagan Spirits

Ghost hunting is not for everyone. Indeed, those who already have a rich and varied experience with the spirit world through their regular Neopagan practice are unlikely to want to spend the night …

Day eight of my ongoing #Halloween project, sharing a classic ghost documentary a day until the spooks hit the fan on the 31st. We're already a week in, #ParanormalSky, and this is a rare example from the era of quirky local TV networks and public access broadcasting. Still a lot of fun though.

Weird nature for you then, #PaganSky. Just found a fresh patch of Fulgo Septica, or dog vomit slime mould in my garden. Harmless, aside from possibly triggering asthma. But when the folklore around it mentions sick troll cats, hex spoiled milk and witches' spit, it's totally worth a closer look.

Ok, #PaganSky, shot through my kitchen window on the highest zoom so not the best quality again, but finally got footage the squirrels chilling together while munching on bird seed by the feeding station I set up at the back of the garden earlier this summer. Become a bit of a local hangout now.

Second post for my 31 days of ghost documentaries, one a day until #Halloween to celebrate #SpookySeason finally arriving. This one is so unbelievably twee and quintessentially British, #ParanormalSky. And really unintentionally funny in places too. Still worth a watch though.

Ah... October. About damn time. My favourite month of the year, and a rare excuse to revel in the spooky alongside the usually disinterested parts of permaculture. As usual I will be sharing a classic ghost documentary a day from now until the 31st on here, from both YouTube and Internet Archive.

Sneak update about something going live in January over at my author portfolio which should be of interest to my longer term, more magickal followers. I realised about a week ago that my more esoteric output has recently become rather complex, at least to outsiders. But I've always been an ...

Further exploring the non-corvid wildlife in my garden this autumn. Haven't got a decent shot of the squirrels or hedgehogs yet but the spiders seem happy enough to pose. I'm no photographer and my tools are limited to what's on my phone, but this is more to honour their presence than to display.

A photo of a pretty brown garden spider on a web in relief against a blurred wall and drainpipe backdrop. It appears to be feeding on a tiny black fly.A black and tan spider hides beneath a plant stem, gripping with it's impressively hairy legs while webs streak here and there in the background.

So, author updates then. First, my work with the hypersigil around the Barghest Wyrd godform is going well, as can be seen by both the visitor numbers over at my portfolio blog as well as feedback on here too. I am planning on sharing some more ritualistic content on there soon as well, and ...

Not the best quality as shot through my kitchen window on a high zoom, #PaganSky, but got back from that trip around Cardiff to see the local crow population enjoying the nuts and suet I popped up the end of the garden for them before I left. Not pictured: the squirrels and magpies eating it too.

Overcast morning in Cardiff. Chill returning to the air after a strangely warm equinox week. Started locking down the garden for winter yesterday, leaving summer frivolities behind under black tarp and tin roof. Out today. Baggy jumper and bobble hat as armour. Warm drink as fuel. Autumn, then.

So what is my Wyrd Fictions hypersigil project? Well if gives me a chance to use world building and short form narrative to explore the role my immanent Keelian Godform has always played in the Fortean world, even before it existed. Latest entry is up now, and should be worth a read. Enjoy.

So the Wyrd Fictions hypersigil project at my author portfolio has proven to be rather popular so far, and that's only with the first three entries up. Short form pseudohistory in the vein of both Calgary and Glasgow's Gideon Keys cycle, as well as Portals of London, the next three go live Saturday.

Strange feeling in the air tonight. Expectant. Heavy. North Cardiff almost seems like it's waiting for something. People unsure of the paving slabs beneath their feet. Maybe it's me. Psychic pressure and all that. Nightmares are worse lately. Third eye feels like it has sand in it. Irritated. Hmmm.
