Even in a place that's typically well protected from wildfire smoke, our AQI's been over 100 for the last couple of days. For someone like me with respiratory issues, this SUUUCCCKKS.

I deleted Bluesky from my phone and set up Freedom to block it if I try to access it from the web. So now, my PC's the only place I can access it. And, since I'm bailing for the day, I guess I'll see y'all tomorrow. Maybe.

I picked up a copy of a fairly expensive woodworking book for less than half value because it had some stains on a few pages. I got the book today, and it's nearly perfect but for the stains. Upon investigation, it looks like the stains were made on the open signatures *before the book was bound*.

If by "liberal bubble" they mean "doesn't actively platform Nazis", then sure. Which kinda makes @toni.bsky.team saying "Yes, we definitely want that to change." sound like "Nazis and outrage drive ad revenue, so we welcome them."

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

My wife & I are rewatching the Naked Gun movies for the first time in decades. The first two have their problematic bits, but are still fun and enjoyable overall. The third one, though... WOW... I mean WOW what a racist, sexist, homphobic, transphobic dumpster fire that movie is, even for a spoof.

I'm really enjoying Bob Odenkirk's turn as the everyman-turned-action-hero. Both Nobody movies were great, and we just watched Normal, and it's fucking fantastic. As a writer, Derek Kolstad is a bit of a one-trick pony... but I'm enjoying that one trick so far.

I can't fucking wait for this game. I already pre-ordered it for PS5 and I hope it comes to Switch 2. I mean, COME ON: A spiritual successor to Star Wars Podracer designed by a bunch of former Burnout folks? FUCK. YES.

The people who are making Star Wars Galactic Racer almost certainly pitched something like that when they were working at EA studios, so it's probably gonna feel really good when it becomes one of the best-selling games of the year.

Our next door neighbors are playing loud music. I don't mind that, it's the middle of the day on a Saturday, you have your fun. What I DO mind is that they HAVEN'T FINISHED A FUCKING SONG IN LIKE HALF AN HOUR. They just keep listening for like 30 seconds and skipping to something else. FFS

Venture capitalists should get absolutely zero breaks if their investments fail, and companies who take VC funding should carry a *massive* tax burden on that income.

I've found the only difference between "easy" and "hard" crosswords is the former uses complex words as clues for simple ones, and the latter uses simple words as clues for complex ones.

In true old man fashion, I've now gotten into doing crosswords and buying books about hobbies I don't currently do but for sure absolutely will 100% start doing, I'm sure, yeah, I'm sure.
