woo-hoo! a new flavor of these arrived at my local costco.

been working on getting pod security group mapping going and it is kind of a pain to get the SG Ids into the kubernetes manifests. i think i can do something similar with karpenter nodeclasses, but there i can select the SG by name/tag, which is just easier.

tonight is my last night in switzerland on this trip. visited the rheinfalls today and was pleasantly surprised. almost makes up for the fact that everything in zurich is closed today.

i was clowned at in luzern today. was eating some great pizza for lunch, and a mob of clowns was making its way down the street clowning at everyone. i froze. what does one do in this situation?

the zurich zoo is fantastic. the rabbit and guinea pig exhibits alone were worth it to us.

in a region of breathtaking views, vaduz might be on a whole other level.

luzern sort of living up to the hype after all.

in zermatt for the off-season and it is still more lively than most other places on this trip so far. also - mountains fucking rock.

barryland has not just st bernards, which is great, but also pens with rabbits, a tortoise, and a guinea pig living and playing together. totally worth the trip here.

there is a place in switzerland called barryland which is a theme park dedicated to the st. bernard. i want to go to there.

montreux is super nice, but i feel that in the busy season it is a hellscape of crowds. hilarious to see the townies here revving their engines all the time like a small US town. some things are universal.

bern is a charming city but all i'll remember is the bearpark.

basel has a shockingly high number of wig shops for a city this size. and for some reason a lot of graffiti that says, simply, "lust". unclear if these are related phenomena.

basel is a great little city, and everyone here has been super nice in not forcing me to speak german. i mean, id love to, but i feel my skill there would only embarrass us both. food so far is fantastic, too.

been in switzerland for about 2 hours now and loving it. everything seems rural in a really charming way.

i guess i need to start scheduling my vacations over 3 years out...

when did home network management just, like, break. it used to be you could really easily manage APs and routers with simple CLI or webUIs. but, like all things, now you've gotta have an app or a cloud.

anyone have suggestions for cool things to do or places to go in switzerland? planning a trip in april.

dug out an old unmanaged switch from my pile-o-junktech and i was worried it wouldn't have great speed. thank goodness it says "Fast Ethernet".

noodling around on a bunch of my old raspberry pis and can't find my old mini hdmi adapter, so i'm blind after reimaging things. probably should've checked for that first.
