Doing that classic sick thing where I reminisce about when I wasn’t sick. Oh how time flies, oh how I have squandered such vitality. May the dark claim my soul and the migraine cap calm my demons

Despite enjoying a lot of media/pop culture that have huge fanbases I don’t generally get into fandoms. I do however collect a small pocket of feral freaks in a group chat that swear under an oath of mutually assured destruction and frankly I think that’s the better way to go

Earnest call for advice because I feel like asking for help is better than stewing even if it feels silly. I have a really hard time with over explaining/over editing/over correcting myself to the point where I tail spin over getting my wording wrong or being misinterpreted 🧵

My favourite thing to do in Black Flag Resynced so far has been to create spontaneous conga lines of guards coming to investigate the same whistling bush they just watched their buddy disappear into

I want to re-emphasize one part of this Xbox story: Half of the 3,200 cuts are happening today and half are happening in the next 12 months. In other words, even people who survived today's layoffs will have to spend the coming year wondering if they're going to be next.

This has probably been said before but it warrants being said again: In these types of layoffs, what happens to all the juniors? This industry cannot survive without cultivating the talent of our upcoming fresh developers. What cause do they have to pursue a career this volatile?

Xbox has laid off 1,600 staff and divested from four studios. The number of layoffs will rise to around 3,200 over the next 12 months Double Fine and Compulsion Games will go independent, while Ninja Theory and Undead Labs have been sold to undisclosed buyers.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma wrote that the company was “beginning the most significant restructure in Xbox history.”

“I really enjoy the freedom of being told “here's what I do want, here's what I don't want: now figure it out.” In real life? Anxiety inducing. In a game though? Very fun. Very challenging.“ @geeofdee.bsky.social has captured the spirit of Burger Bois perfectly here! youtube.com/shorts/FOQ-K...

I’m not saying anything new but the pursuit of profit over the fostering of talent just to ingest as many studios as possible, hold them under the thumb and then cut them loose- it’s unspeakably frustrating to watch no lesson be learned and the machine keep churning

BREAKING: Several Xbox studios, including Compulsion, Ninja Theory and Double Fine, are negotiating with Xbox as they try to avoid closure. Some or all could spin off. Lots still in flux as many studios remain unsure about what's happening. Here's the latest: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Had a lovely fan interaction with a family after the Masters of the Universe early screening tonight and I’m only now realising they definitely heard me yell ‘now kiss’ at He-Man and Skeletor
