🧑🏻‍🎓 I was a teacher of English language and literature for 32 years. 💦 I live in the small town of Yarm by the river Tees in N.E. England.

📒🐦‍⬛🎶 The 19 bird calls that I heard early this morning (August 5th) by the river Tees, added to my notebook. 🐦 The Kingfisher and the Goldcrest were back again and the Egyptian Goose put in a surprise appearance!

☁️ It’s a warm, but cloudy start by the river Tees after some overnight rain. 🐦‍⬛🎶 Lots of birds are out chirping and twittering as usual …

Looking upstream from Yarm Wharf towards Yarm Bridge. Wooded banks on either side, reflecting in the water below. Cloudy skies just starting to brighten.

💬 I’m disappearing early tonight after being up so late with the football last night and up so early for my river walk. See you tomorrow … 👋

🐈‍⬛ My cat has been behaving like a normal cat today - sitting on my knee, watching the birds from the windowsill, playing with his toy 🐟 that I just nearly tripped over in the bathroom. 🐾 All this is so unusual for Womble, that I’m actually starting to wonder if he’s ill 😸 …

Looking downstream from Yarm Wharf towards Preston Park. The wooden structure of the wharf and a lifebelt on the right - lush greenery on the opposite bank reflected in the water below. Cloudy skies.
