Eldest is taking 2 suitcases to France for a year. This is how much wool she is planning on taking...
Gen3cats

Archivist, mother of teenagers. Back up to 3 cats. Seem to currently spend most of my life at work, in a car or lying in a hammock in the shade hiding from house work and unpacking
I've just cancelled my daughter's pocket money standing order as she is an adult and left school. Its only a token amount, purely for her to spend on whatever rubbish she wanted, but.... sob...
Had my first readers in today who had only done research via chatgpt for their house history previously. Absolutely no idea if it had told them the truth or if they even understood the records I'd got out (luckily mid 19thc to 1954 but did include legal stuff). Sign of things to come?
Ah the fun of well meaning relatives having no clue just how competitive the world is for 18yo now (or that actually you need higher a level grades for jobs and apprenticeships than to get into university now)....yes CCD was fine 20 years ago but not now!
Nice #UnconfinedWalks to the pub. Childhood character postbox toppers including a hidden Wheres Wally. Should have taken photo of my drink but too busy drinking and chatting. Suspect will regret this as have work tomorrow....
The Archive but it's a videogame from 1998.
Promised eldest that I wouldn't watch Sewing Bee without her (she is away for 2 weeks). This is requiring super human effort tonight
#UnconfinedWalks around the cricket pitch, park and woodland whilst youngest at athletics. So dry leaves are falling already and it will feel like winter is going to last forever...
Next door neighbour has just mown his back lawn for the second time since the hospipe ban started here. Wish they'd force everyone onto a water meter
Cat2 is less than impressed with the first rain in 6 weeks.... the door is wide open
Early morning dropping eldest off at Gatwick. I'm not a morning person but pre 9am on a Saturday is probably the best time to do the m25...
There is a joke in girlguiding that Rangers are just big Rainbows. Last time she had a unit bear she was in Rainbows but Olive is all ready to go in hand luggage to Kenya tomorrow!
#ConfinedCocktail whilst sitting in the garden for the first time in days - so nice being sub 30 degrees! Risking a gin and tonic (Welsh Wind i think) for the 1st time in a year. Was very ill last time I drank gin and not sure if I have developed an intolerance or just drank too much. Cheers!
#UnconfinedWalks to pick up a 2Good2Go bag of healthy brownies. Local yarn bombers have been busy again. Brownies had a great texture but as 18yo said could use a bit more sugar....
Scrumped mulberries and chips for tea, plus the incriminating evidence of said scrumping on my hands...
Ahh the millionaire who was selling her daughter's new look tops is now selling revision guides as her son has finished his gcses. And not cheaply to do someone a good turn either. No words
Earlier #UnconfinedWalks to the local well dressing event (established 1982). There was cake, plant, book and jigsaw sale. Alas we did not win the raffle.
Eldest has an interview as an au pair this evening. Anyone have any wise words or cautionary tales to impart? What should she be asking/ noticing?
Cat2 and 3 update. Cat2 weighs 1kg, 90g more than her brother!
Had to leave mid scrabble game to pick the youngest up. Just played 'viceroys' on a double word score, so 84 points. In no hurry to go back as suspect will never top that....
Eldest arrived at school for her a level maths exam at 8.30am this morninv to discover it is actually an afternoon exam. She didn't appreciate me pointing out that it was better than the other way round!
Back up to 3 cats (cat1 slowly coming around to his new brother and sister, mainly as he prefers kitten biscuits....)
Cat1 has just killed the 2nd magpie. Eldest has declared she is going to fail her history gcse.
