Today, I sent a letter to the SCC urging them to reject the proposed merger between Dominion Energy and NextEra energy. This deal would hand control of our state's energy grid to an out-of-state ownership structure that isn't accountable to Virginians. I'll keep fighting until this deal is dead.

Last time I questioned Pete Hegseth, he confirmed that the president was briefed on all possible outcomes before deciding to strike Iran. Now, the president seems unprepared and blindsided by the consequences. Was Pete lying? Either way, he is mismanaging this conflict. Pete needs to go.

Since Republicans' war with Iran began, Virginians have paid $1.8 BILLION more for gas. Every extra dollar at the pump is a dollar families can't spend on groceries, rent, or child care. This war is costing Americans too much. It must end now.

Everywhere I go, I hear from veterans facing long wait times because of understaffing at the Fredericksburg VA. That's unacceptable. I'm leading bipartisan legislation to increase transparency, improve accountability, and help ensure veterans get the care they earned.

Today, we commemorate the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 — a landmark law that helped dismantle segregation and expand equal opportunity in America. We honor the courage of those who fought for justice and remain committed to building a more equal nation.

Sixty years ago, Medicare coverage began, transforming health care for millions of Americans.  Today, that promise is under attack.  This administration's cuts to Medicare will put Virginians' lives at risk.  I'm working to protect Medicare and strengthen it for future generations.

Veterans shouldn't have to wait months for the care they earned.  Yet that's exactly what too many are experiencing because of chronic understaffing at the Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center.  I’m leading a bill to require the VA to publicly report staffing shortages.

Housing costs are crushing families, and Trump is threatening to block the most significant housing affordability legislation in decades, including my bill to increase housing supply. Extreme Republicans say they want to lower costs. Their actions say otherwise. 🗞️ Read more:

Service members are entrusted with sensitive information that keeps our country safe. That should never be used for profit. I'm proud that my Honor and Trust in Service Act was included in the NDAA. This is an important step toward protecting the integrity of our military and national security.

Nitazenes are stronger and deadlier than fentanyl, and they're fueling the next wave of the overdose crisis.  That's why I introduced the first-ever bill in Congress to address their rise. We must act now to stop these deadly synthetic opioids from claiming more lives.

Chinese suppliers are advertising nitazenes — more potent than fentanyl — online - The World from PRX

For years, fentanyl has dominated the opioid crisis in the US — but there’s an up-and-coming class of synthetic opioids emerging called nitazenes, drugs that can be 40 times more potent than fentanyl ...

This Gun Violence Awareness Month, we honor the lives lost to gun violence and recommit ourselves to creating safer communities for every family. In Congress, I'm committed to working across the aisle to reduce gun violence, protect our communities, and keep families safe.

11 years ago today, the Supreme Court ruled in Obergefell v. Hodges that marriage equality is the law of the land. 🏳️‍🌈 As we close out Pride Month, we celebrate those whose love was respected by this historic ruling, and we reaffirm that everyone deserves the freedom to marry the person they love.

Congress has access to classified briefings, closed-door negotiations, and advance knowledge of what legislation is being voted on. Allowing lawmakers to place bets on prediction markets creates conflicts of interest and risks undermining public trust. My bill would put a stop to that.
