*twirls moustache sanctimoniously* Doing the game dev. 17/10/2006 Greek (I'm a shiny pokemon in these parts) Just call me Gent. I shall not suffer those who defend the Abominable Intelligence.

I gotta figure out how this whole "get a concept together before starting work on a project" works because I have like, half a dozen universe ideas, half a dozen visual style concepts and a hundred vague images of characters or creatures which are all largely disconnected in my mind. 1/5

Y'all I may have finally figured out how to make ivy that is not dogshit! Also messed around with shaders a bit so that I can control the brightness of individual ivy quads so I can have them be darker where the environment is also darker. Also I updated the wall texture, I like it.

A 4:3, quarter resolution screenshot. The POV looks at the corner of a dirty khaki stone brick wall with english ivy growing on it. The floor is made of stone tiles with a vibrant khaki color. The sky can be seen above the wall and it's a dull darker blue color.

I had forgotten just how much fun Oxygen Not Included is. In half a day I got an old save from cycle 31 to 67. Sadly we lost Ashkan. They were fried to death because I forgot to unmark some lead for mining. I will ensure that their sacrifice does not go to waste.

I haven't really stuck to doing proper PS1-2 era graphics so far so I wanted to do some testing. This bare-bones scene features two repeating 128p textures using unshaded materials. I painted the vertices in Blender to try and suggest a directional light hitting the room and I'd say it came out fine

A one-quarter resolution screenshot at 4:3 aspect ratio.
The pov is from within a room with pixelated vibrant brown stone tiles and khaki stone brick walls. The left side walls appear to cast a soft shadow into the room. The sky that can be seen above the walls is a darker, dull blue.

Either I got hack or a small channel I follow got hacked cause I randomly got a video in my YT subscription feed from a channel called "Oregano Cooking" or some shit like that that only has that one new video and I have no memory of ever interacting with.

Dearest Death, I hope this letter finds you well. In the letter I have attached a pair of glasses. Recent developments have led me to believe that you are in desperate need of new spectacles. With kind regards, Gent. P.S. I hope you get the right old man next time.

One of the discord servers I'm in has a thread specifically for writing that no one has used in months because we are all collectively afraid that anything we write there will eventually be fed to a clanker. No this post has not been inspired by any gamescom related events what are you saying?!

Oh wow I didn't think I'd get an email ad to go back to FFXIV lmao. I like that they are telling me about flying at lvl 50 but I don't even have a mount to begin with. Everything else on this is also just stuff that I dislike or don't care about lol

As much as the flooding of game slop saddens me I find hope in knowing that most indie devs know how to pick up a(n occasionally metaphorical) pencil and that there are still many great games that came out long ago as well for people to play. Hopefully Geoff will learn what games to avoid for TGA.

So a while ago, I looked at GODOT's "Shadow Atlas Quadrant Subdivision". Never read what they do, assumed higher = better. And boy let me tell you. HIGHER DOES NOT EQUAL BETTER (actual info in the replies for those that do not understand but care for the depths of my folly)

Also, shout-out to GOG for giving me The Witcher 3 soundtrack with the game. I may have almost gone mad listening to it on shuffle for the last week but I could not have done it without those blessed mp3s. (and also Toby for just letting me rummage the Deltarune game files to listen to the music)

Alright, my submission for the #GoneFishingGameJam is in. Is it a finished game? No. Is it fun? Maybe. Does it work? It should! In any case, there is no ending yet, didn't have time but for my first game jam I think I did well enough! Learned a few things along the way too and it was good fun! 1/3

1k posts and over 200 followers all of whom are definitely real people. Exciting! Anyway, a big thanks to all 1-2 of you that actually are real and actually look at my posts. And a slightly smaller thank you to the other 2-4 of you that like my posts but never read and check if they are a thread <3

A shark with its mouth turned upside down to look happy.
