On this day in 1902: Major Taylor and his wife, Daisy, are on a 3-week voyage on RMS Ventura, from San Francisco to Sydney. They're very worried about the "White Australia" policy, underpinned by a 1901 law aimed at excluding non-white, non-European migrants. Turns out it doesn't apply to them.
