Researcher in Pepperkok team @EMBL, Heidelberg. All about big data, high-throughput screening, Golgi DNA damage response & endomembrane-nuclear communication
New paper from our group (Pepperkok Group, EMBL Heidelberg), led together with @kuodyte.bsky.social, where we show how the Golgi complex plays an active role in regulating homologous recombination DNA repair, pointing to DNA repair as a more cell-wide process than previously appreciated.
@georgegalea.bsky.social, @kuodyte.bsky.social, Pepperkok et al. reveal that RAD51C is anchored at the #Golgi by Giantin until DNA damage triggers ATM-dependent release & nuclear import, establishing the Golgi as a spatiotemporal regulator of nuclear #DNArepair rupress.org/jcb/article/...
We’re kicking off the year with a new preprint update! Discover how DNA repair proteins coordinate between the Golgi and nucleus. Our latest data reveal how ATM, NBN, and GMAP210 regulate RAD51C localization to drive HR repair. Thanks to @kuodyte.bsky.social & Pepperkok team @embl.org
Spatiotemporal dynamics of RAD51C between the Golgi and nucleus regulates homologous recombination and genomic stability.
Intra-organelle communication is essential for cellular homeostasis, but the coordination between nuclear processes and cytoplasmic compartments remains poorly understood. Here, we uncover a novel spa...
