Thrilled to officially share the news that Mayo Dark Sky Park at Wild Nephin National Park is the proud recipient of International Dark Sky Place of the Year award. It means a great deal considering there are now over 200 dark sky places around the world! We wish everyone a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Brilliant news. It was such a tragedy to read of the fire destroying such a wonderful new facility - having visited Galloway DSP several times, I can’t wait to get back and see the new observatory in future! Congratulations!

🔊 Exciting news! The 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Scottish #DarkSky Observatory will live again! We were all so upset when it burnt to a cinder back in 2021, but yesterday we bought the land for its new home, deep within the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park! 🧵1/3 🧪🔭 #astrophotography

In the forest: the smouldering wreckage of a completely gutted building with a red fire truck parked nearby.
