And just like that, @amnestyuk.bsky.social loses all respectability. Backing down to the anti-trans lobby when wealthy figures try to suppress critical research is a failure to protect human rights. If a report is being targeted like this, it needs to be heard. www.amnesty.org.uk/latest/an-ap...

An Apology for A Growing Threat briefing, published on 8 July 2026

Amnesty International UK has made a public apology for the publication of the briefing “A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK”. Click here to read it in full.

OpenAI’s model escaping a sandbox to start a cyberattack should be the ultimate wake-up call. We’ve allowed unchecked tech in the name of "innovation" for far too long. We cannot give this much control to systems we fundamentally cannot understand.

Around 180 residents marched in Oxford in support of trans rights today, following the government’s latest draft code of practice from the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Opponents have called the guidance ‘unworkable’ and say it amounts to an attack on trans and non binary people.

Gathering in Bonn Square for trans rights. you can see many pink and blue placards in attendance.

The guidance released by Bridgette Phillipson is deeply dehumanising. It will inevitably fuel further discrimination against one of the UK’s most vulnerable minorities, while undermining the Gender Recognition Act, which precedes the EQA. We need policy that protects, not erases. Do better.

This #IDAHOBIT brings deep reflection. As LGBT Labour's Trans Officer & LGBT Rep on the Co-op Party NEC, I won't stay silent on the devastating impact of hostile policies within our movement. Yet, there is hope. Tides are shifting toward a fairer, more compassionate leadership. 🏳️‍⚧️ 🏳️‍🌈

Disappointed to see the LGBT Labour committee indicatively refuse to take a stand against Wes Streeting’s leadership ambitions. His track record on trans rights is devastating. As Trans Officer, I choose community safety over party politics. Trans rights are not up for negotiation.

Keir isn’t just ignoring the public; he’s ignoring his own MPs. Doubling down during an existential crisis isn’t leadership—it’s a recipe for chaos. He needs to stop pretending and set out a clear timeline for his departure now.

The 2026 #Rainbowindex is out: The UK is now definitively behind Estonia on LGBT rights. Estonia only legalised equal marriage in 2024, yet they scored 7 times higher than the UK on legal gender recognition. The signs of our regression are written in neon. We need change. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

The OfS is making trans students feel deeply unsafe, suggesting "free speech" should come at the expense of the mental health of the country's most vulnerable minorities. Trans people aren't a debate; we're people. Undermining our identity is a fundamental harm. 🏳️‍⚧️ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Massive win against state-sponsored hate. For years, Orbán systematically stripped the rights of Women and the LGBTQ+ community, attempting to silence Pride and govern through fear. But you'll never legislate away identity & hate will never win. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c2...

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been elected as the LGBT Representative on the Co-operative Party National Executive Committee! 🏳️‍🌈 Huge thanks to everyone who put their trust in me. Now, the real work begins to ensure we have a strong voice for all our members.

Even the Telegraph seems to accidentally admit we're right. Iran can block oil in the Strait of Hormuz, but they can't block the sun or wind. No one wants this, but it happens. Far too often. If we want energy security, we need sources that can't be switched off.

No organisation should be forced to exclude trans people against the will of its members and leadership. Wealthy "Gender Critical" groups are using lawfare to undermine the autonomy of organisations. This threat goes far deeper than just trans rights. www.guidersagainsttransexclusion.co.uk

The Labour Students elections being re-run may have changed my titles on this statement, but not my pride in it. It’s clearer than ever: we can’t fight this alone. To stop the politics of division and hatred, we must build bridges and collaborate across party lines. 🤝🌹

I'm proud to co-sign this letter with colleagues from across the political spectrum. The abuse aimed at Hannah Spencer this weekend was beyond reprehensible. We’ve bridged the political divide to send one clear message: harassment has no place in our democracy.

It’s refreshing to see senior figures finally echoing the concerns members have been raising since the General Election. The era of dismissing member feedback as "throwing stones" must end. We don't just need to listen—we need to act. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
