"You know that feeling of complete physical exhaustion? The sensation you get after you’ve worked out super hard or maybe eaten a huge meal, and you feel totally spent, but still somehow perfect? That’s the feeling Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey provides." My review of #TheOdyssey is here:

'The Odyssey' Is Almost as Wondrous as You Wish It to Be

Christopher Nolan's IMAX epic starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Anne Hathaway opens Thursday.

I will always love the fact MLB All Star, & Chicago Cubs superstar, Pete Crow Armstrong, is the son of Ashley Crow. Aka Billy Heywood’s mom in Little Big League. The mom in Little Big League is the mom of an actual big leaguer. (I’m aware most people know this. I don’t care.)

#TheOdyssey is *almost* as good as you want it to be. Of course, it's a filmmaking marvel, and I was fully engaged throughout. But, at times, the story moves in such a beautiful, jazz-like way that the more stagnant moments suffer by comparison. Small gripe, though. I can't wait to see again.

The one and only @jwhitbrook.bsky.social has written a beautiful piece about using Baldur's Gate 3 as a way to cope with grief. A wonderful read. Well worth signing up for his newsletter to read and, bonus, you'll get more awesome pieces to follow.

The Familiar Escape of 'Baldur's Gate 3'

After hundreds of hours across several playthroughs in Faerûn, Larian's smash hit RPG has become one of my closest comforts in times of grief.

"With Lone Starr in hiding, Queen Vespa on the throne, and the Schwartz stretched thinner than a franchise releasing TV episodes theatrically, the only hope for the galaxy is..." You go, Spaceballs: The New One. Take those shots at The Mandalorian and Grogu. I'm seated.

'Spaceballs 2' Is Already Making Fun of 'The Mandalorian and Grogu'

The first plot description of the upcoming comedy sequel is here and 'Star Wars' is in the cross hairs.

It's time for another edition of "Germain goes back and rewatches a movie he loved as a kid to see how it holds up." This time, it's Joe Dante's Explorers. Unfortunately, while half of it is freaking amazing, the other half is not. And I'd basically blocked that second half from my brain.

We Went Back and Explored the 1985 Joe Dante Film 'Explorers'

Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix star in the sci-fi kids film, which doesn't quite hold up upon rewatch.

Happy Disclosure Day… day. Throwback to 2002 when I did the junket for Catch Me If You Can and met Steven Spielberg for the first time. This was a digital photo that I thought I lost but found a terrible print out of which I then took a photo of. As the director intended.

I loved #DisclosureDay. A dense roller coaster ride blending chase film, love story, & mystery, all wrapped in sci-fi wonder. It's Spielberg's best film in 20 years, filled with all the magic that makes his films so special, plus an all-time character and performance by Emily Blunt.
