Looking at the graphic, I swear there were more street-level businesses on the block City Center destroyed alone than in a very large swath of downtown Minneapolis today😭

If this isn’t enough evidence for Minnesota to (at least) keep doing the bare minimum and never legalize sports betting, I don’t know what is. So many lives ruined in this country due to the massive expansion of gambling in the past several years.

Congrats to the amazing KAT! (And, begrudgingly, the Knicks!) Anyway, his cousin cut my hair in North Carolina a couple times and she talked about how much he genuinely loved living in MN and showed her around when she visited! All-around great person and he deserves every bit of this.
Minneapolis needs to do this so badly! Mpls 2040 plan + implementation did not do nearly enough to actually (zoning-wise) allow more small apartment/townhouse/etc buildings! And yes, St. Paul is currently the metro leader on this😄💚

The level of condescension here! The self-centered perspective! Sounds like a “vehicular cyclist,” and I question how much they really ride. I‘m a confident rider, and yet, have in the past felt like I’m putting my life on the line to bike on Hennepin S, E Hennepin, Lyndale, Lake, University, etc.

Nia Coffey's heroics for the Lynx tonight are life-giving to all those of a roughly similar age who may dislike their generational compatriots being referred to constantly as the "old wily veterans" and similar! We're not done for yet! 😭
Kinda painful season-opening loss for the Lynx, but definitely see more potential than maybe I’d hoped, especially once Phee and Dorka both return! But man are we missing the size and also defensive skill of everyone we lost 😭I’m sure there will be second-guessing of draft decisions too but ah well
Well, today was *not* the day to be a fan of Minnesota’s professional hockey teams😭

[extreme sarcasm voice] Do you think it’s possible that maybeee the Twins shouldn’t have traded away all their competent relief pitchers??! Do you think they could’ve mayyybe been a decent team over the course of 2026 if the Pohlads had invested even a moderate amount of $ in players?
I was *really* looking forward to the Lynx being able to run things back with most of their key players (I guessed BC would be gone; that's fine) & enjoy another fun season with their great team vibes & chemistry. Would've been a huge bright spot in 2026. Kinda feels like that's gone already?☹️
He truly rocks, and is yet another example of why the Trump regime hates MN & is so perplexed by white people supporting their neighbors! Because people like this white Scandinavian-descended dude in a Twins hat IN A RURAL AREA (!!) named Ivan Olson stood up and said NO! We care for people here!

I mean, are you gonna try to tell me anyone but a bunch of college dudes would have created this sign? 😅Lol. Students hate ICE/trump!

If you care about housing issues at all, give this thread (if not the paper!) a read! Incredibly helpful in thinking about what's needed to get movement on price and access--a both/and approach where yes, zoning and related reforms occur, but affordable housing (of all types) is actively supported!

Just saw a room of 100+ mostly old & almost 100% white Minnesotans leap to their feet and applaud a law professor who, among several other points, proposed we ABOLISH ICE, give amnesty to all undocumented immigrants, repeal the Clinton-era IIRAIRA, end detention centers, etc! We are going to win!
Overheard, in two great Minnesotan accents: “Hey ‘Tom,’ what’s for supper tonight” [dramatic pause] “Ooh, you don’t wanna know…intelligible disgruntled words.” “Oooh, + surprised ope noise, ookay!”
They say to dream the world you want to live in or whatever, and I want to inhabit a world with hourly trains from Chicago to St. Paul!! I mean well and truly, ideally we'd have hourly trains 6 am to 6 p.m. [& also on a greenfield high speed rail line that stops in Rochester! Sigh, one day]
