I hope we can build on that idea of the blue state/world economic zone/mutual aid partnership. With our combined GDP and empathy, it could be a model for something real and a benchmark for what voters expect from future candidates.

This point needs to be made over and again: The main purpose of wealth taxes should not be to raise revenue. That's a small and secondary benefit. The main purpose should be to *reduce the fortunes of the ultrarich*. Why? Because those fortunes present a massive threat to democracy and public life.

Labor was never a problem humanity wanted solved. Hunger, homelessness, climate change, on the other hand…
