You'll probably see posts about Reds baseball, fantasy baseball, Virginia sports, and the occasional riff on foreign policy.

Entry level mechanical watches are far superior today than they have been in recent memory. There are entire Youtube channels looking at the value for money proposition. You can buy a Seiko dive watch with their entry level automatic movement for $175. My current go-to field watch is an $80 Casio.

Yeah, I think one thing that’s muddling this discourse is Shein/Temu. People are comparing the perceived “bottom tier” of consumer goods over time and concluding stuff is getting worse, but what’s really happening is that we’ve added new, ultra-low tiers.

Today's deadline theme seems to be about teams mis-valuing their prospects, especially their top prospects. Too bad the Reds are incapabale of taking advantage of it. Also, this is making the Dodgers acquisition of Skubal even more maddening if you're the Tigers.

It seems some of yall aren't going to like hearing this, but the Orioles are having a very good trade deadline. They're (finally) focusing on adding elite pitching prospects and aren't trading away their *actual* core to do it.
