This week, we've been setting up #Malaisetraps in Tenerife, in an area impacted by a large-scale #wildfire in 2023. I'm excited to collect samples for DNA metabarcoding analysis. But first, let's hope all 36 traps survive two weeks in the field! Many thanks to @csic.es and @czechacademy.bsky.social
Last week, we sampled #soil #arthropods in Tenerife, where a major wildfire occurred in 2023. We’re investigating arthropod responses in fire-adapted and fire-sensitive forests. Sampling was done with Alena Sucháčková and Vojtech Lanta from Biology Centre CAS, and Carmelo Andújar from @ipna.csic.es
By the end of 2024, we completed two more regions for the #EdAFoBio project (funded by @ageinves.bsky.social)! 🌍🌱 Over the course of a month, we conducted a soil sampling campaign in Chile, covering both a temperate and a Mediterranean forest! 🐜🌳
