Just a wee bookworm from Glasgow.
Book 7️⃣ Famous Last Words - @gillianmauthor.bsky.social There’s a crisis on the news. A gunman has taken 3 hostages. But what happens when your seemingly normal husband is the gunman? This was a gripping, tense read as we find out what led to that moment. Five ⭐️s #BookSky💙📚
✨January Wrap Up✨ Only 5 books in January this year as it turns out buying a house takes up a lot of time! Onyx Storm is going straight in there at number 1 with The Great Alone a close second. #BookSky💙📚 #JanuaryWrapUp
Book 5️⃣ Onyx Storm - Rebecca Yarros House stuff really interfered with reading time 🙃 but thanks to a broken boiler I’ve managed to get time to finish this and I just loved it! But that ending with no idea when the next book will be written nevermind released?! #BookSky💙📚
Book 4️⃣ The Great Alone - Kristin Hannah A book club choice and a wonderful story. I probably wouldn’t have picked up this tale of a teenage girl moving to Alaska with her volatile parents but by the end I absolutely loved Leni and was rooting for her! #BookSky 💙📚
Book 3️⃣ The Lost Bookshop - Evie Woods I read this book for a new book club - which I didn’t get to attend as I didn’t finish on time! I didn’t love nor hate this book I just plodded through it. I felt the characters could have had more depth given to them. #BookSky💙📚
Book 2️⃣ Please Tell Me - Mike Omer I wanted to love this book more but it all just felt a bit rushed and parts of it just didn’t make a lot of sense with no explanation given. I have heard the authors other books are better though so will keep an eye out! #BookSky💙📚
Book 1️⃣ Keeping 13 - Chloe Walsh A new year and a continuation of 2024’s last book. That cliffhanger and those characters I just had to continue with - loved it 🥰 Probably would have been faster without the post-football hangover 🤦🏻♀️ #BookSky💙📚
My Top 10 Books 🙃 Cheating a little with my top 10 this year by including two 5 ⭐️ series! All The Colours of The Dark - Chris Whitaker The Matilda Darke series - Michael Wood Project Hail Mary - Andy Weir The Empyrean series - Rebecca Yarros #BookSky💙📚
Book 1️⃣1️⃣1️⃣ Binding 13 - Chloe Walsh This was a long ass book to fit in before the year ends but this YA romance was a perfect fit! Loved the characters and flew through the pages. Thankfully I bought book 2 at the same time with that ending! #BookSky💙📚
Book 1️⃣1️⃣0️⃣ The Quiet Tenant - Clémence Michallon This was so tense that I didn’t want to put it down. Aidan is a family man, the town loves him - but he’s also a serial killer who is holding a woman captive. This was so good & gave me Last Thing to Burn vibes! #BookSky💙📚
Christmas Book Haul 🎄📚 The Complete Throne of Glass Box Set by Sarah J Maas The Rule by David Jackson Nightwatching by Tracy Sierra The Puppet Show by M W Craven The Quiet Tenant by Clémence Michallon #BookSky💙📚
Book 1️⃣0️⃣9️⃣ The Christmas Cottage - Sarah Morgan I adore Sarah Morgan’s Christmas books and it doesn’t feel like Christmas until I’ve read the latest - just managed to squeeze it in this year! I’d just love to have stayed with the characters of this one 🥰 #BookSky💙📚
Book 1️⃣0️⃣8️⃣ The God of The Woods - Liz Moore I enjoyed this story and some of the characters but others I felt were lacking some oomph and it dragged on a bit too much for me. #BookSky💙📚
Book 1️⃣0️⃣7️⃣ Redemption - @jackjordanbooks.bsky.social Jack Jordan has a habit of making books where people are in impossible situations and this one is no different! A husband is attempting to stop his wife murdering the man who killed their son. Read it in a day! #BookSky💙📚
Book 1️⃣0️⃣6️⃣ My Favourite Mistake - Marian Keyes I didn’t realise this was a Walsh family book before going into it but I loved revisiting them! A perfect little holiday read 🥰 #BookSky💙📚
Book 1️⃣0️⃣5️⃣ People Like Her - Ellery Lloyd Loved this insight into the lengths influencers will go to profit and the dark and twisty storyline that haunts the influencer in this story! I’m always curious about how husband/wife author teams work too. #BookSky 💙📚
Our first book club secret Santa went so well 🎅🏻👏🏻 So excited to read The Quiet Tenant by Clémence Michallion and eat my Maltesers selection box 🥰🎄 #BookSky💙📚
Christmas tree is up ☑️ Christmas presents are wrapped ☑️ Suitcase is mostly packed ☑️ Now let’s get through this week and on that plane for a break before the festivities ✈️
Book 1️⃣0️⃣4️⃣ A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder - Holly Jackson I’m so behind the times with this one but I thoroughly enjoyed this YA small town murder mystery! Pippa was such a joy of a character along with sidekick Ravi. Might download the tv series for the plane #BookSky💙📚
Book 1️⃣0️⃣3️⃣ Before I Do - Sophie Cousens Everyone has what if moments in their life but what if you were confronted with yours the night before your wedding? Do you believe in soulmates, fate and bad omens? This was a nice little romcom 🥰 #BookSky💙📚
Book 1️⃣0️⃣2️⃣ Five by Five - @byclairewilson.bsky.social A fabulous debut which looks inside the prison intelligence service! I was on the edge of my seat towards the end and, with that ending, I’m expecting a follow up! So glad I heard about this at @bloodyscotland.bsky.social! #BookSky💙📚
✨November Wrap Up✨ Another 9 books read in November taking me past my 100 book reading goal! Loved Only Love Can Hurt Like this and I’m excited to continue the Throne of Glass series after Christmas! #BookSky💙📚 #NovemberWrapUp
Book 1️⃣0️⃣1️⃣ Blood Like Mine - Stuart Neville I went into this book expecting the usual cat vs mouse as the FBI hunted down this mother and child. But it was a whole other book than what I expected and very well done! #BookSky 💙📚
I have a question for those who have read #ThroneOfGlass - When did you read Assasin’s Blade? I’m clearly too late to read it first but there seem to be a few other options of when to read it.. #BookSky 💙📚
Book 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ Throne of Glass - Sarah J Maas After thinking ACOTAR wasn’t my thing at the beginning of the year - I’ve now completed it and moved onto this series 😂 I loved this one and I’m hoping I’m betting on the right male character - I may be wrong. #BookSky 💙📚
The eating challenges on I’m a Celeb make me ill 🤮🤮 Could never be me 😂 #imaceleb🐛
Cancelled plans due to snow mean a day in bed with my book 💙📚
