I don’t think there’s an aesthetic I find uglier than dark fantasy western. Western themes video games already have an abysmal aesthetics hit rate (remember, borderlands is trying to ape westerns) but this shit is just hands up ugly and has no real point

Total radicalism perspective on the ff7 levelling discourse. They should set your level minimum for every fight in that game. The medium has been held captive by the checklist-ticking child despots for too long, it’s time to make games for the people who skip cutscenes and never stop sprinting.

so close to winning the one piece local today, beat someone whos won before. i know im almost there. huge confidence boost compared to a dreadful performance last week. lost to a deck on top table partly because i tech'd for certain popular decks i never faced. thats how it goes

I’ve been possessed by a demon that tells me I have to play Xanadu Next right now or I’ll never feel peace again. That games been on the lowest of the low on my priority list for years but right now it feels like nothing else will satisfy me. The last time it happened I played dragons dogma

Was trying to take one piece a lot more seriously but feel like it’s just leading to a terrible mindset. I’m just gonna play, focusing on irls, mainly for the social outlet, and then if I’m still playing 6 months to a year from now I’ve hopefully exposed myself enough to start actually learning

Unfortunately not enjoying EOSD nearly as much as I hoped I would. Not a huge fan of both learning and playing the stages in this game, which is a huge duller on getting motivated for the lunatic clear

SPRAWL Zero is riffing on that kinda late-2000s-early-2010s style of fps that has always been a guilty pleasure for me. People use wanting a brain-off game as an excuse to play mid but this is is totally a brain-off game thats good and fun

im -500 on buying one piece cards to fill out two different top meta decks this month im not too fussed about spending that much right now but doing that every set would be way too much lmao. gonna have to marry these decks until next year where i start building for melb regionals

Little did he know that this would be the last time he actually does stealthing around for the rest of the game MGS4 is unfortunately on indefinite hiatus until i can find 3-4 uninterrupted hours to finish act 5. i think thatll happen on like, maybe the 19th lmao

Midway thru act 2 and mgsiv is really blowing me away with its gameplay. I think if I played them as they came out or if I marathoned them I’d be like ‘it’s another one of these’. But only playing the first 3 and then getting to play 4 a decade+ later has me like HOOOLY SHIT ANOTHER ONE? THIS RULES

The real test with oot remakes visuals is: divorced from the knowledge you already have about oot, does this new art style do anything to communicate the tone/style/world/fantasy/whatever of oot. I think overwhelmingly the answer is no. It looks like a different game in every screenshot

MGS4 SPOILERS I knew about the act 4 twist ahead of time, one of the few things I knew about the game, so maybe that’s why it didn’t hit for me. But man, I just don’t think this kind of thing works at all lmao

Posted on Reddit for the first time in probably ten years last night, pretty straightforward, and wow that community is a hundred times worse than I could possibly meme it to be

I got into the one piece tcg cause I had just finished the manga and really liked it. I was kinda skeptical of it just being the ip tho so I’ve dipped into a lot of other tcgs as well, recently come back and realised just how much I love it

game dev practices are terrible and unhealthy and theres a lot of cognitive dissonance that occurs when you play a game and are aware of that (this is double true for everyones favourite classics too). I don't often draw a line at refusing to play smth because of crunch, but I always do w Rockstar

It's really easy to dunk on gacha posters but underneath the 'anti-elitism' belies a much more annoying truth, that a lot of people feel entitled to a portion of your attention and consideration but don't really want to put in any effort to deserve it. total democratization of taste.
