Attention Dubbers! I am talking to a company about dubbing, and they are asking for my dubbing rates for finished hours of audio. As far as I know, dubbing is based on working hours and not finished audio hours. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. What would you say to them?

One of my big goals for 2025 is to narrate a LitRPG title. I've played D&D and Final Fantasy since I was 8 years old - this is right in my wheelhouse. So far, two auditions, not hired for either, though I was proud of both auditions. Come on, universe - make it happen!

Favorite way for casting to collect auditions: Dropbox Acceptable: Attach mp3 to email Just ok: Google Form Annoying: Google Drive link Least favorite way: Discord But to be fair, am I willing to do all of these? Yes. Yes, of course.

Well, I just got a few major thumbs ups on my auditions on Bodalgo, for which I used my "fake British/mid-Atlantic/neutral" accent rather than my normal American accent. That is heartening to see! Makes my Monday!

I want to give a shoutout to @girlmadeofjade.bsky.social for posting this snippet of me and her in a doctor's interview gone horribly wrong for @thestoragepapers.com horror podcast recently. Or gone right, depending on whose perspective you take.

Remember when it was so cool if you knew the college tour guide? They'd be mid-tour, and you'd be all, "Hey, Joe!" and all the high school kids and their families would think, "What a great community!" Haha... simple times...

2025 Voice Acting Goals: -Book a commercial role -Book a role in a broadcast animation -Book a console video game -Book 25 audiobooks -Narrate a LitRPG -Narrate a documentary -Book 1 Audio Description job -Find 3 new eLearning & corporate clients -Reach out to 1,000 new contacts

Year-End stats from Year 3 #voiceacting - 2024 🎙️ 1635 Auditions 📘 90 Bookings 📈 5.5% Booking Ratio 💰 51.2% of my final year teaching salary Not too shabby! That's more than double what I made last year. There probably won't be too many years where I can say that.

2024 Goals In Review: 1) 12 video games ✅ (14!) 2) 20 audiobooks ✅ (Counting it. Cast in 25 - but not all released yet). 3) 12 animations ❌ (9 - room to grow here). 4) Grow w/LinkedIn ✅ (I've grown so much with regular use of this platform.) 5) Book work w/12 new clients via direct marketing ✅ (14!)

Christmas can be strange. It's the only time of year you can see an ad for something like Buntington's World Famous Nut Mix and think, if it's world famous, then why have I never heard of it before?

PSA: It's very difficult to convince a 4-year-old that "Do" and "To" are pronounced like they are, because "o" makes an "oh" sound, so quite literally, even a two letter word like "Do" should sound like "Doe," and "To" should be "Toe." WHY, ENGLISH, WHY!?

My current D&D group is me (the DM), my wife, 4 neighbors, and my 71-year-old mom, who is playing for the first time. When I was in middle and high school she was very scared of my hobby and reluctantly let me play. Tonight, she killed her first 3 bad guys!

I spent 4.5 hours recording an audiobook today, & I got 2 hours 42 minutes of finished audio. THAT is a personal record ratio, by a lot, and made possible by my wonderful engineer handling all the technical stuff. I am floored. A revolution is coming! I have now learned what is possible!
