New G'MIC-Qt filter! ▶️ Filter "Rendering / Variable-Density Hilbert Curve" turns any image into a single winding line, with local density following luminance, the effect described in our latest G'MIC Adventure #7, now just a click away, with adjustable parameters. #GMIC #GIMP #Krita #PaintNET

📖 Our yearly G'MIC recap is out! Beyond the 4.0 release, this article dives into a year of work behind the scenes: new G'MIC-Qt filters, the variational color transfer algorithm, creative coding scripts & more. Don't miss it! 🤩 EN: gmic.eu/gmic40/ FR: linuxfr.org/news/g-mic-4... #GMIC #OpenSource

G'MIC 4.0: Squaring the Pixel, Easier Than Ever!

A full-featured open-source framework for processing generic image (2D,3D,3D+t) with multiple interfaces: command-line (cli), gimp plug-in, web service, Qt plug-in, C++ library

🎉 G'MIC 4.0.0 is here — a major release focused on stability. It also opens a new chapter: fewer releases ahead, with more focus on framework robustness & performance rather than big changes. The core is mature — now we polish it. Developed @ GREYC lab (CNRS/ENSICAEN/UniCaen) ▶️ gmic.eu @cnrs.fr

After years of frequent releases and constant new features, it's time for G'MIC to take a breath. I've just kicked off work on G'MIC ▶️ 4.0.0 ◀️ 🎉 . The 4.x branch will be all about stability and performance. Fewer releases, but rock-solid ones. Excited to see where this new chapter leads!

🥳 Exciting news! G'MIC-Qt ships built-in with latest release of @PhotoFlareIO v1.7.0 🖼️. That's more than 650+ open-source filters (film emulation, inpainting, artistic effects…) available in one click for PhotoFlare users. Open-source collaboration at its finest 🥰 ▶️ photoflare.io/what-gmic-ad...

What G’MIC Adds to PhotoFlare – Photoflare

Most PhotoFlare users never find it. It sits quietly under the Filters menu: G’MIC-Qt…

🚀 We have a new G’MIC-powered Demo Kiosk: The SteamFace Machine! Check out our physical demo station featuring our neural-network based facial feature detection & analysis. Still WIP but looks cool! 👉 Video demo attached—try it live at our next events! 🤩 #GREYC #CNRS #ENSICAEN #UNICAEN

⚙️ I've started a new G’MIC-powered side project! Building a small real-time facial feature detection demo… in full steampunk style 🛠️✨ Face detection is already working 🎯 Now aiming to have it ready for the next science festival in Caen! Stay tuned 🚀 #GMIC #GREYC #CNRS #ENSICAEN #UNICAEN

🚀 G’MIC ▶️ v.3.7.1 ◀️ is out! This minor update brings a few new filters, bug fixes, performance improvements, and enhancements across the framework. So happy to see how far the project has come since 2008! We’re now taking a short break to recharge, and we’ll be back even more motivated 🔋 Enjoy!

Creative Update 🎨 Work in progress on my G'MIC experiment that try to simulate marker drawing… I progress slowly but nicely, and I must say, the results are looking pretty cool to me already! Still tweaking the behavior of strokes and ink diffusion, but it's getting there 🙂 Stay tuned!

I've always been told, “Never release anything on a Friday!” — let alone Friday the 13th! 😈 I'm then happy to announce the release of a major new version of G'MIC: ▶️ 3.7.0 ◀️ ! 😅 Lots of improvements, new features, and refinements under the hood. Enjoy! ▶️ Changelog: discuss.pixls.us/t/release-of...
