G'MIC (GREYC's Magic for Image Computing) is a full-featured open-source framework for image processing, distributed under the CeCILL license. #image #processing #science #research #floss #foss #opensource #freesoftware #art #photo #retouching #graphics
New G'MIC Adventure #7! 🐉 We build a variable-density Hilbert curve that reproduces an image as a single winding line, with local density following image luminance. Follow the full thought process — including the bugs introduced along the way 😅 ▶️ discuss.pixls.us/t/gmic-adven... #CreativeCoding
A little preview of "arrange", a new G'MIC command currently in development. It lets you combine images into custom layouts (grids, symmetries, rotations...). While testing it, we ended up with these lovely little creatures 👹 ▶️ discuss.pixls.us/t/new-comman...
📖 Our yearly G'MIC recap is out! Beyond the 4.0 release, this article dives into a year of work behind the scenes: new G'MIC-Qt filters, the variational color transfer algorithm, creative coding scripts & more. Don't miss it! 🤩 EN: gmic.eu/gmic40/ FR: linuxfr.org/news/g-mic-4... #GMIC #OpenSource

After years of frequent releases and constant new features, it's time for G'MIC to take a breath. I've just kicked off work on G'MIC ▶️ 4.0.0 ◀️ 🎉 . The 4.x branch will be all about stability and performance. Fewer releases, but rock-solid ones. Excited to see where this new chapter leads!
Today, we've got an interesting message from D. Strupl: "I’ve been working on a Rust-based macOS bridge/plugin for using G’MIC from Affinity Photo 2 and v3: github.com/dstrupl/gmic... I’m looking for feedback from G’MIC/Affinity users (...)" Anyone willing to help? 🤩

🚀 G’MIC ▶️ v.3.7.1 ◀️ is out! This minor update brings a few new filters, bug fixes, performance improvements, and enhancements across the framework. So happy to see how far the project has come since 2008! We’re now taking a short break to recharge, and we’ll be back even more motivated 🔋 Enjoy!
Surprisingly, my latest filter tends to mess up tigers’ hair! I’d better avoid using it on myself! 😄 🐯 🪮
New filter ▶️ Artistic → Marker Drawing ◀️ now available for our G'MIC-Qt plug-in, version 3.7.0! A very entertaining filter, generatesresults that can vary greatly depending on how you adjust the settings. Enjoy! 🥂 #GMIC #GREYC #Filter #ImageProcessing
Creative Update 🎨 Work in progress on my G'MIC experiment that try to simulate marker drawing… I progress slowly but nicely, and I must say, the results are looking pretty cool to me already! Still tweaking the behavior of strokes and ink diffusion, but it's getting there 🙂 Stay tuned!
Tonight, I'm experimenting with a G'MIC script, trying to simulate a kind of Marker Sketch. Not sure we'll come up with anything conclusive, but it's still pretty fun! #GMIC #GenerativeArt #CreativeCoding
Creative Tuesday 🎨 A small animation inspired by the Diffusion-Limited Aggregation (DLA) process, revisited and generated with a short G'MIC script. Mesmerizing organic growth, emerging from simple rules! ▶️ Source code: pastebin.com/TAMQRehK #Gmic #CreativeCoding #GenerativeArt #AlgorithmicArt
Creative Saturday 🎨 I played with the Hilbert curve a bit today and made this little animation, with a G'MIC script. Looks like a twisted Star Wars lightsaber! ▶️ Source code: pastebin.com/64syuj3D ▶️ Hilbert Curve: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilbert...
I've always been told, “Never release anything on a Friday!” — let alone Friday the 13th! 😈 I'm then happy to announce the release of a major new version of G'MIC: ▶️ 3.7.0 ◀️ ! 😅 Lots of improvements, new features, and refinements under the hood. Enjoy! ▶️ Changelog: discuss.pixls.us/t/release-of...
