With Martinez sadly retiring, that's her, Madison Eagles and Sara Del Rey gone; the standard bearers of a generation of highly underappreciated women who never got the platform they truly deserved in wrestling.
Sometimes just a bit of ink tones down the expression to where it’s meant to be, so the $4 Sting’s license can pop and he can hang out with his friend from Delta City.
And this post keeps me from doomscrolling on my downtime, and going on a Gen X nostalgia rush playlist... youtube.com/playlist?lis...

I might make a substack just as a place to log my favorite thing in the world. Music Video Tie-ins to Movies. For example, John Carpenter's music video for Big Trouble in Little China www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqPJ...
Tim Curry gave many spectacularly unhinged performances but the one that made the deepest impression on me was in THE WORST WITCH. If you've never seen this classic of shonky 80s video effects, cheesy lyrics & ludicrously sexy performance for a kids film, well now you have. youtu.be/SSZYVFc6BqI

I will keep this in mind if I ever make Project Outsider 2.
I'll try to win $50 from a scratch off and pay some guy to make me a No Mercy romhack where I can make Hangman Page wrestle The Gambler
One last one, then I'll stop. Tekken 4 may have been too much of a change, but felt like a cool new direction to me. I really liked the sloping arenas. May be nostalgia bias, because for a while it was one of the few arcade games I played back in the early 00s.
Let me add the Backyard Wrestling games to that. The second one had an awesome roster and soundtrack and it played like an off version of Power Stone.
1. Final Fight Streetwise wasn't good, but playing through it, I didn't think was as bad as people said, and had fun with it. 2. WWE 2k20 was all kinds of messed up, but the fantasy DLC was the awesome type of dumb fun I love and I wish would have caught on for later games.
OKAY LETS HAVE FUN. "Most critically acclaimed thing you hate" is like a free square, so lets hear THE CRITICALLY WORST GAME YOU LIKE. Bonus points if it's actually bad, but 'It's actually slept on' is fine. Mine is probably Jurassic Park: Trespasser. Magical, shitty game.
people keep telling me South Park Rally is one of the worst games on the N64, and I keep asking them "then why did me and my friends have so much fun playing it then?"

I still have some of these somewhere in storage...
Ran into these ugly beasts that used to haunt my nightmares as a kid. I wanted Castlevania toys (or video game toys in general) so bad back then but we'd always end up with some western "premium" figures like this... Kids can get Figuarts are the grocery store now. Times are better!
I present to you Jean Claude Van Damme and The Smithereens in an official music video for Timecop youtu.be/PW6EgtTXQlc?...

Just saying that this channel has been putting out some great stuff, and one of the voting choices is for WMAC Masters.

Regarding that last post. I've been thinking this quoted post describes what I've been feeling a lot. Even when I was just a kid, I vividly remember mall and college arcades, department stores, vacations etc. Kinda on a wistful nostalgia kick as of late, having lots of thoughts of past times.
"but besides the game I also remember the place, the people I was with, the atmosphere of the arcade and the food. For me, games are one of the keys that preserve memories other than just the game itself" Ask any 'fake history' gamer to describe anything other than what they paid & they crumble

Here is a picture of an anime fan from the early 80s that made his own Captain Harlock shirt.
Occasional reminder that all Western anime fandom is founded on Captain Harlock and Dirty Pair.
Sting vs Cactus from this show is one of my all time favorite matches.
Restarting International Object like this has made me want to return to one of my first events I remember: WCW Beach Blast 1992. I watched it on VHS, surely recorded by a family member. It was the first WCW show I'd ever seen.
If you're a fan of Smackdown! 2 and WCW, you can't really go wrong here. It has pretty much every wrestler you want with hacked moves included. We talk a looot about Japanese wrestling in this episode. t.co/XlkTvP5rRR 🤼

Tell me who your fave 4 in the game are!
Keep enjoying your fun hobbies. Read those comics. Watch that anime. Play those games (board, video, whatever). Wear what you KNOW looks good on you, not what expectations for your age says looks good on you. If your body is tired, LISTEN to it. Get some sleep. And drink more water, dammit!
If you’re over 30, quote this with some life advice 🤌🏼
