I've been seeing a lot of projects about reintroducing bison and other large herbivores around Europe for rewilding and the idea has merit for sure but uh. Are they planning to follow that up with wolves to control the population? Are the locals aware of that step??
I really need Pleistocene documentaries to actively involve modern day animals into them. The Surviving Earth dire wolves were literally just normal wolves made with CGI, they made no effort to actually represent Aenocyon. They just wanted something that sounded prehistoric.
tbh the funniest part of the last Surviving Earth episode is they also animated the animals pretty dramatically like the dinosaurs but you can tell it's wrong because that's just a normal ass wolf. Yeah man I'm sure wolves menacingly growl at deer when hunting
