Additive synthesis is so cool, you just turn the knobs up and the more you turn them the cooler the sound becomes
Just had Gemini hallucinate twice now in different sessions the existence of a sequencer plugin that does not exist… perhaps from another timeline
I ate a candy bar and it was yummy Google Gemini: You’re going to die—here’s what to expect over the next few hours.
Ok but to be clear here the book in question here is 19th century frontier pulp self insert slop
This is the same old "you can't solve weightlifting with a forklift" thing that happens again and again with current consumer uses of AI: the point of reading a book is not to finish the book easily, it's to READ the book, especially if the book asks you to do something that feels difficult
I dunno if this is really a bad use case for AI, at least they’re trying to read a book. An activity that we should keep in mind that is rapidly dying out among younger people. On the other hand, idk if reading The Last of the Mohicans is the best use of your time
Axios writer: I melted my brain with AI. Not only can I no longer read, but I don't even understand the purpose of reading anymore. Here's how you can also do this. www.axios.com/2026/08/11/r...
I do think Woke 1 was a real thing, but it feels silly/quaint to talk about because of how much antiwoke has jumped the shark
You’re pushed on by numbers and punitive measures: pain, rejection, and unpaid bills. You can either play or you can crawl under a boat and waste away -- turn into salt or a flock of seagulls. Your enemies would love that. Or you can fight. The only way to load the dice is to keep on fighting.
The crazier thing here is that he’s at a black tie event and El-Sayed is at what appears to be a local diner lol
On CNN, El-Sayed is asked about this Trump post. He says it represents "two different visions of America:" "Two people who don't like each other but are joined in the interest of making billions of dollars off of you. Or, two people who genuinely love each other, enjoying some panacakes together."
You might think Eurorack is expensive to get into but if you look at the prices for acoustic instruments you can start to feel less bad about it
From this article: ticketing from cameras disproportionately affected Black and Latino drivers, they are often implemented in order to generate revenue rather than improve road safety, most of the money is made from late fees. www.propublica.org/article/chic...
Chicago’s “Race-Neutral” Traffic Cameras Ticket Black and Latino Drivers the Most
A ProPublica analysis found that traffic cameras in Chicago disproportionately ticket Black and Latino motorists. But city officials plan to stick with them — and other cities may adopt them too.

Automated enforcement doesn’t solve the issue, it hands over social obligations to an unfeeling algorithm
I could outwoke everyone in my replies rn but I’m choosing to be a better person
I failed to consider that every city has a permanent underclass of street racers who can’t be reasoned with, even if we got rid of all cars they would use their illegally imported turbo swapped Hondas to terrorize the local populace
Being told that sensor based algorithmic control systems are totally politically neutral compared to racist police officers, we have absolutely nothing to worry about once all laws are enforced through the computer. Sorry for causing a fuss everyone
I got like 4 different quote tweets like this from people who would likely start foaming at the mouth if I explained how an LLM works
the algorithm in this case being if (calcSpeed > maxSpeed) issueTicket() lol come on
Automated enforcement doesn’t solve the issue, it hands over social obligations to an unfeeling algorithm
Driving a car is incredibly dangerous, it should be one of the most regulated experiences on earth, and it is very upsetting to watch people who correctly don’t trust the cops turn against automated enforcement because the alternative is relying on a cop’s judgement to enforce the laws.
The point of a system is what it does
My hottest Bluesky take is being pro (contingent on it being in public areas) panopticon, particularly with cars. The safety benefits are real. But Flock being used for ICE stuff when the city paying for the equipment hasn’t agreed to that is a legit objection to the firm.
We ran the numbers and found that making an anti-AI post would really improve your likability among Bluesky users
Final boss of solution looking for a problem to solve
This is way less harmful than half the shit you guys post here, idk why people are freaking out about it
3rd spaces and revolution.
To give some non-tech people an insight into how this is happening: the AI hopium sphere has been blogging incessantly about LLM “dark factories” where you give some ill defined task to an LLM which is authorized to spin up as many “agents” as it likes to complete the task.
good stuff man
0.000% of Communism has been built. Evil child-murdering billionaires still rule the world with a shit-eating grin. All he has managed to do is make himself *sad*. He is starting to suspect Kras Mazov *fucked him over* personally with his socio-economic theory.
Might as well just ban the computer then
setting aside data centers, environmental concerns, any sci-fi/fantasy AI-apocalypse concerns, and concerns about built in bigotry or using AI for evil ends like drone targeting; discounting all that, i'd be for banning LLMs just based on lazy people overusing them and it making those people stupid
I hope people can more widely understand that guys who write books called “The Future of Truth” are masterclass bullshitters and that reading this stuff is a total waste of time
note that people like the original guy here used to fuck up references all the time and then blame their research assistanes
This website is really having its bacon narwhal moment
D&D has released an official statblock for Jimothy
btw this won 1st place 🤟
