Rewatching E.T., I think I love this movie more as an adult thinking back on childhood then I did as a child. (It certainly makes me cry more as an adult.)
I’ve been seeing examples of people applying “slop” to things they don’t like outside of AI. Please, do not make that a thing. A trash work of art made by actual people has more value than any “art” produced by AI.
Sometimes I’ll remember the story “Sesame Street introduced first Asian-American muppet” and think about the implication that every other muppet on Sesame Street represents an ethnic group.

Ever get a severe case of the giggles for an extended period of time? Because this one simple edit from @redlettermedia.com of Mr. T's "Be Somebody or Be Somebody's Fool" has had me giggling intensely for almost half an hour.
On an article about 29-year-old who took her own life after only disclosing her depression to a chatbot, I saw people in the comments defending that. “It’s like a journal that talks back to you.” For the love of God, do not use a chatbot as your journal or therapist!
Y’know, Destiny was very big, but I still think Peter Dinklebot in the vanilla release was its most enduring contribution to pop culture.
Maybe you think you are invulnerable to this (you are not), but the people who stay in Twitter because you are still sharing there are definitely being dragged to the right. I have so many mutuals who are still posting regularly there, and it's so disheartening to see. Please stop.
John Pfaff@johnpfaff.bsky.social · 5d agoEvidence is already accruing that spending time on Twitter pulls ppl to the right, bc the algorithm feeds you horrible stuff. And again: academics are likely more vulnerable, bc they convince themselves they are less.

I don't understand LitRPG as this huge subgenre. Sure, a handful of popular series with the premise of "world that follows game mechanics" I'd understand, but this is apparently a huge market with endless variants.
He may well have 1000 Einsteins and Mozarts working in his warehouses right now, but they can't do anything with their abilities what with having to work 18 hours a day under constant threat of being fired for taking a piss
