New Yorkers aren’t intimidated by anyone, not even the President. We won’t allow an $85 billion agency to operate without accountability. We won’t allow ICE agents to hide behind masks. And we won’t turn local police into Trump’s deportation force.

For too long, NIMBY culture has blocked the housing New Yorkers need. Not anymore. In New York City and across the state, we’re cutting red tape, bringing down costs, and letting them build.

When Trump and RFK, Jr. put politics ahead of science and public health, it has deadly consequences. New York is fighting back. I just signed legislation protecting New Yorkers from rogue federal actions that could limit access to lifesaving vaccines.

As New York’s first mom governor, I take the care of our children seriously — almost as seriously as these little ones take their arts and crafts! That’s why this year's budget puts us on a path to delivering universal child care statewide.

When boundaries are crossed, accountability matters. We will not let ICE use local cops to carry out civil immigration enforcement. We will not let ICE agents hide behind masks to evade responsibility. And we will not let ICE agents get away with violating New Yorkers’ rights.

Crime is down in New York because we’ve given local law enforcement the resources to protect local communities. Donald Trump said himself there would not be a surge of ICE agents into New York unless I asked for it. I’m not asking.

On International Firefighters Day, we honor the brave New Yorkers who run toward danger to keep our communities safe. New York is grateful for your courage, your sacrifice, and your service — today and every day.

Today we welcomed King Charles and Queen Camilla to New York City and joined them at Ground Zero to honor the lives we lost on 9/11. As we approach 25 years since the attacks, the pain of that day remains and so does the resilience New Yorkers showed in its aftermath.

Tariffs and trade wars have driven up costs for everyone. That includes businesses like Kamco, builders, and families trying to afford a home in New York. We’re focused on real relief: Lowering auto insurance costs and putting money back where it belongs — in your pocket.

State landmarks were lit blue and red this week to honor New Yorkers who've experienced crime and the professionals who support them. During Crime Victims Rights Week and every week, we are committed to supporting crime victims and ensuring they get the justice they deserve.

Plans for this new apartment building in Troy were submitted in spring of 2023. Extensive reviews meant it was two more years before they could even break ground. It's clear that the status quo isn't working. Cut the red tape. Let them build.

Happy National Arab American Heritage Month, New York! From Bay Ridge and Astoria to Rochester and Buffalo, New York’s Arab American communities are rich in their expression of music, food, history and art. Proud to celebrate the achievements and resiliency of all Arab Americans.

Now more than ever, we need to stand together to protect our democracy. Proud to join Rev. Al Sharpton and leaders from across the country to celebrate 35 years of the National Action Network as we continue the fight for justice, decency, and equal opportunity for all.

A blind man was left to fend for himself on a bitter February night by Donald Trump’s DHS. His death was just ruled a homicide. This was a failure of basic humanity. The Erie County District Attorney is investigating. Anyone found responsible must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

New York has always been a beacon of freedom and hope for the persecuted. As trans rights remain under attack across the nation, we stand tall. We celebrate our trans neighbors. We value their contributions to our great state. We will never stop fighting for them.

A very happy birthday to my incredible husband, and the First Gentleman of New York! Bill, thank you for always being there with love, laughter, and unwavering support.    I’m so lucky to share this life with you. ❤️

New York is home to two of the nation's busiest airports. At a time when air travel safety is front of mind, the last thing we need is disruption and dysfunction. I'm calling on New York Republicans in Congress to take up the bipartisan bill to staff the TSA and end this chaos.

Today marks 115 years since 146 people lost their lives in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. The victims were mostly young immigrant women who came to New York seeking a better life. In their memory and for all workers, we continue the fight for workers' rights today.

Parents and kids have been sounding the alarm for years about the harmful effects of addictive social media algorithms.    That’s why I worked with @nilyrozic.bsky.social and Sen. Gounardes to pass the nation-leading SAFE for Kids Act in 2024.    This is a victory for kids across the country.
