The budget I just signed into law strengthens our behavioral health system, ensuring Pennsylvanians facing a mental health or substance abuse crisis can get help quickly.

Today, I visited Lehigh County Crisis Intervention to meet the people on the front lines who provide mental health services to Pennsylvanians who need support. One of those critical services is our 988 hotline — a number Pennsylvanians can call or text 24/7.

Here in Pennsylvania, we’re reducing the stigma around mental health — and expanding access to resources for folks who are struggling to get the help they need. For the first time ever, we secured dedicated state funding in the 26-27 budget for the 988 crisis hotline.

This is the exact wrong way to do development here in Pennsylvania. I’m a hell no.

Pennsylvania is beginning to dominate in the life sciences space. Our NEW Innovate in PA 2.0 initiative is going to build on the foundation we’ve laid — providing capital for startups, speeding up clinic trials, and developing a workforce pipeline that will help early-stage companies succeed.

NEWS: We’re investing $6 million to support The Wenger Group’s expansion and purchase of Plainville Farms — helping them remain operational and saving 690 full-time jobs in Adams County.

Our economy will only continue to grow if we have enough trained workers in key industries like education, child care, and nursing. That’s why our latest budget includes:

We’ve invested a historic $11.85 billion in K-12 education — BILLION, with a B. The budget I just signed delivers funding for universal free breakfast, invests in upgrades to old school buildings in need of repair, and ensures our students get the mental health support they need at school.

We got the Commercial Street Bridge open in just 17 days — a testament to what’s possible when PennDOT, the private sector, the Pittsburgh Building Trades, local law enforcement, and government at all levels come together to get stuff done. Because here in Pennsylvania, we can do big things.

Here in Pennsylvania, we believe your mental health is just as important as your physical health. That’s why we’ve worked to expand resources in our counties, schools, and crisis centers — so no matter where you are, you can get the help you need.

Today, I welcomed the family of artist, activist, and Kutztown native Keith Haring to the Governor’s Residence for a celebration of his life and the impact that he continues to have on our Commonwealth today.

17 days — one full week ahead of schedule. Pittsburgh: The Parkway has officially reopened.

We’ve improved over 20,500 miles of roadway and repaired nearly 2,000 bridges since the day I took office. On top of that, our latest budget includes $775 million over the next two years to keep improving our state roads and making them safer for drivers.

When I say we get shit done in Pennsylvania, this is exactly what I mean. Thank you to Secretary Carroll and his incredible team at PennDOT for working around the clock to get this bridge rebuilt and Parkway East re-open in just 17 days — a full week ahead of schedule.
