Thinking of coining "serviceless architecture" term to describe dialog's deliberate choice of syncing without server component which cost some efficiency, but prevents lock-in.

There is a twisted irony for companies right now. In Satya's latest article "A frontier without an ecosystem is not stable," he warned about a future where "a few models eat everything they see." That phrase captures the bet companies are making right now whether they realise it or not.

The industrial revolution organized companies around the production line. The computer revolution organized them around the database. What will be the organizing principle of the AI revolution?

You've tried to solve the data fragmentation by adding yet another database. It's like creating another group chat to replace the five group chats you already have. Now you have six group chats.

Problem isn’t a technology, but an asymmetry of power distribution that this technology is amplifying. Silicone valley had being looking to disrupt & this technology is like no other, unfolding it in front of our eye. Those that benefit are ones on top with no regard to those being disrupted

Just discovering Gleam (the programming language) and really like how sensible and minimal the language design is! For example, there is no distinction between sum types and product types; they make it work by allowing field access without destructuring in simple cases. Very cool. gleam.run

Can’t help but I wonder what we could have achieved if we poured as much resources into elevating human intelligence

Sadly business incentives are strong force that makes businesses prefer native apps as they can assert more control over users, ads are unblock-able and tracking isn’t as easy to stop
