Russia has again made unsupported claims that Ukraine is seeking nuclear weapons. In late February, Moscow alleged that the United Kingdom and France are considering assisting Kyiv in acquiring either a radiological dispersal device (dirty bomb) or nuclear weapons.

On February 14th, five GP members - the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Germany, and The Netherlands - issued a press release stating that Russian journalist and opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who died in a Russian prison in 2024, was poisoned with the toxin epibatidine.
