Hey, Grabbus Gamers! *ahem* There's a lot on my plate these days, but please do not take this lull as an indication of the status of Grabbus. I've been working hard to get more time to work on this! I will begin writing up the design and content of the "Skixx Codexx" in-game glossary tomorrow!

I'm almost done with the other thing I was working on that was keeping me from working on Grabbus! I'm also visiting my parents' place for a few months soon to help them out while dad is in physical therapy, but I'll bring my PC and concentrate even more on gamedev in my spare time while there.
I just made a major decision that will give me more time for Grabbus. There will be three Grabbus days a week, back-to-back! It has been tremendously difficult to find a good chunk of time to work on it lately. So, I've made cuts elsewhere to allow more breathing room. It is time to truly Grabbus.
Figured I'd make it clear on the profile page that Grabbus is a game that does not use AI in any part of the process. I know the art looks good, but I assure you I drew it all myself.
Status Update! My classes will begin soon and I'm still working on a commission that will take a couple more weeks at least. I've been CRAZY busy lately, just not on Grabbus, sorry! But to refresh, a new dev schedule will be made after I've settled into classes and my big commission is done.
It will still be some time before I can get back to work on Grabbus, but we have been brainstorming on what the next update should focus on. I'm pleased to announce: The Onboarding Update! -New tutorial popups for storage and evolution -Hand-made Intro stage -"Skixx Codexx" in-game glossary
Status update! I'm doing some paid catch-up work for a while before I can get back to Grabbus, so please have patience for a bit! Until that and the home repairs get settled and done...
Just finished this hand-painted piece for Grabbus! Watercolor and pens for the most part. I'll try to get it scanned and stuff soon!
I'll be back home on the 11th! Then sometime soon after, we'll report on what's planned for the next update! I'll definitely emphasize that now is the time to begin adding broader expansions to Grabbus' variety of locations, items, activities, enemies, buildings, and more... Get ready! 😎👍
I made some new sounds for this and I'm REALLY pleased with how they were implemented!! I was playing a lot of Grabbus while I was figuring out how I wanted to make the sounds, it's very fun, please try it!

"The Storage & Balance Update"

I'm about to upload v0.2.6! Just making sure I have everything perfectly ready.
Patch notes have been written up. Today's the day!
Just did more testing this morning and fixed a bug related to weapon container drops that caused their power level to be overwritten by the world potency roll. This will certainly be a patch full of fundamental fixes... I checked all loot drop function calls to make sure things are perfect.
The Spanish translation has been updated and the new sound effects list has been determined, with work on the latter beginning now! The new update is coming along! I'll be continuing my own testing of the game today to see if there are any more balance tweaks I want to make or bugs to fix.
All is going well for prepping the next update! I've already started a test playthrough with the new balance changes and item storage! I was able to identify some minor fixes and adjustments so far, and got those done. We're still far from a full game, but the fun factor IS increasing!
Here's a cool reveal while you wait for the update: In a later patch, "Rat Rescue" will appear! It's been mentioned in passing before. -Rescue a fellow rat in the dungeon and they may join your colony! -Another mouth to feed, but a source of work points! -Build far and wide to support more rats!
Just finalized the last bit of the gamepad functionality for the new storage menu. Once the on-screen control guides are added, which shouldn't be too hard... that will be everything ready for the next update! But give it a few more days...
It's almost ready! A few more small, easy bits left until the item storage menu is complete!! But for tonight, I rest...
The new storage menu is coming along fantastically! Most of the graphics and 100% of the features and QoL tweaks I could think of are now implemented. It still needs a few effects, sounds, and control guides, among a couple of other tiny details, but the storage menu is now officially a thing!
Here's how the upcoming item storage menu looks so far! It has taken a lot of work, but I wanted it to look slick, but also be easy to use. Still needs plenty of graphics. It has taken a moment to get working since it has some cool features...
Got more done today! I improved some effects related to items flying across the screen and started working on the background for the storage window. Bit by bit it is coming together!
Added the "cutoff window" for the scrolling items in the storage menu, fixed a couple other bugs while I was at it... all is working well so far! With this, I'll have everything set up to finish the rest of the visual touches, like borders! The item windows will have animated backgrounds inside!
Got more done on the storage menu yesterday. Even fixed a bug that caused items to be destroyed while in storage! All the functionality seems to be working too. The graphics for the tool buttons are in, but still needs the rest.
Just released a news item on Steam summarizing the upcoming patch! store.steampowered.com/news/app/351...

Item Storage! Balance Improvements! Bug fixes!

Miraculously, the new storage menu... works! Not detecting any more immediate bugs, all things behaving as they should so far. We're good to go on adding the graphics! The timeline for the next update moves that much closer!
Would you believe this is less buggy than I was expecting?
Managed to finish the bulk of the internal logic/input for the storage menu! Next, I must put together visual placeholders to see which parts will inevitably need fixing after writing 800 lines of code without testing.
Made more progress on the storage menu this morning! Input handling for KBM and Gamepad should be done. Some item transfer actions are in. It's about 70% coded, but I have yet to test it. I'll have to put together some placeholder graphics to see how many bugs I haven't caught... ran out of time!
