New rules for submissions will be updated as soon as this php business is sorted! If you're thinking of submitting, try to keep it at 3,500 words or less for fiction pieces. We want to make as much room as possible for all our submitters and also be mindful of the time it takes our editors to read.

Want to know a little more about us? Look no further! Grackle Review is here to stay, much like the 'nuisance' birds we know and love. Caw, caw! Submit your work if you like our birdy vibes 🎉Link to submit is in our bio.

About the Literary Journal:

Founded in September 2026 by Alejandro Wilson, the Grackle Review is inspired by the Common Grackle. Considered a ‘nuisance bird’ by many bird enthusiasts due to their aggressive behavior, intelligence, and destructive habits this literary journal takes inspiration from this beautiful bird that is found throughout North America.

The Grackle Review seeks work that is odd, strange, off-putting, high contrast, and exploratory. More so, it seeks to encourage artists and writers that feel unwanted to say ‘fuck it’ and submit their work anyway.

We now have an Executive Editor! Please give a warm welcome to Elizabeth Kirkland. She's been my long-time friend and partner in literary mayhem. Elizabeth is going to help polish this lit mag until it's shiny and fun to read - thank you so much, Elizabeth!
