also i think the race and culture of someone making said oc has to be taken into consideration but thats just me
everyone loves your wol until you tell them their favorite part of the story didn't happen in your canon or it happens differently
this is mostly abt the wol thing bc garland is an anomaly to that. she is a warrior of darkness, the equivalent to a stranger in SoP ( if you know the context of that game ) and so to her the narrative is setting her to do things in ways she would not do them in
