Long Tailed Tit These little guys hang out in groups of upto 20 close family members. These groups will break up in to pairs for the summer, that will make a nest out of cobwebs and moss to raise their chicks, often with the help of other family members who have no chicks of their own! #Birds

Mute Swan (male) 🦢 Have you ever heard a full grown Swan take off from close range? The deep and loud THRUM THRUM THRUM of the wing beats, and the SLAP SLAP of their feet beating at the water, is something to behold. Makes you wander of they really could break your arm with a wing 🤔 #Birds

Dancing Grey Wagtail I spotted this Wagtail jump down to grab a large fly before turning around and immediately taking off again. I think she looks a ballet dancer, what do you reckon? #birds
Female Blackbird In the 2nd picture you can see her using her nictitating membrane, a special '3rd eyelid' that birds have, that helps them clear their eyes while also allowing them to keeping an eye out for danger #birds
Here's the Ouseburn Mute Swan Cygnets, chilling after all the fuss yesterday caused by a visiting pair of adults Thankfully no one was injured apart from a small cut to one of the adults legs. Mute Swan territorial disputes can get very violent, and can even lead to the death of cygnets
