"goofy, overlong movies larded with unearned sentiment and cheap gravitas" seems to me to describe 90% of the movies coming out of Hollywood these days.
The main problem that the movie of "The Odyssey" is facing is that it is directed by Christopher Nolan, a bland director who makes goofy, overlong movies larded with unearned sentiment and cheap gravitas. The HomeGoods idea of great art (which I shouldn't say because I enjoy going to HomeGoods).
